  • Yes, I think it wont do any bad to us if we give em Ecol Eng as well..
They're being weak and our friends anyway.
Besides I think anyone else has Eco Eng, so sooner or later DA are going to trade it in for something.

We can give them Ecol Eng as a loan and when they have something equally valuable, take it back.

    How do you think?

    • Gaians are prepared to give you Ecological Engineering in return for another technology now or later - details will probably be worked out later and you will be contacted regarding the technology in return. You will receive both technologies in a package, thus being able to redirect to Cyberethics, in a turn or two. However, you do understand that this means you will be indebted to Gaians for two technologies (for II and EE)?

As I am finally withdrawing from this ACDG, you should direct future diplomatic transmissions through either Chaos Theory or BT or as best solution, to both of them.
Sent to Mart. I hope it won't take someone from you much time to take over diplomacy.

          Lord Chaos Theory,
Please inform the High Council about the following:

          To Gaian union:

We would like to inform you that we are presently in possesion of High Energy Chemistry technology and we can transfer this technology to you. Whether it would be as the payment for Ecological Engineering, we can decide upon that. In case you would like to trade a technology with Morgan Industries, please consider choosign their impact technology in that case.

Would plasma technology be of crucial importance to you at this stage of war with Human Hive?

          Sincerely,
          IT Mart

                Yeah!

But won't work with Sparta at least, if they have SFF, they will only be amazed how can we have it already!

                • Greetings IT Mart!
(as eventis seems down again, I send this through pm)

The Spartan destruction of Morgan capital has led Gaian Union to a final decision for making alignments with other factions.
It seems that things should change and things should change now.

This message is not an official proposal, rather an informing and questioning one and perhaps a prelude to further negotiations between Gaian Union and Data Angels.

Gaian High council has put forth a project to engage in a PACT with Data Angel faction to try to catch up with rapid growth of both Spartan and Morganic factions.

The grounds of such decision are:

1.Gaian Union and Data Angels have been friendly to each other from the very first contact

2.Gaian Union and Data Angels share almost the same ideals, main of them being freedom and peace.

3.Gaian Union and Data Angels are both the weakest (human) factions on Chiron and really need some help from outside to grow faster.
PACT would produce such help for both our factions in the terms of commerce and increased co-operation in all or almost all issues.

The exact terms and conditions can be discussed later.

With this message Gaian Union wanted to ask Data Angels if your faction is interested in this kind of relation.

                  best regards,
                  Lord binTravkin

                    Lord BinTravkin,

You will find during your next turn the High Energy Chemistry technology preaccepted in transfer from Data Angels. This is as you indicated in payment for Ecological Engineering.

We also consider a message regarding Pact between our factions, which you have sent to us. We will soon respond to this message.

                      • What problems do you speak of? Eventis has no troubles since it was rebooted couple of weeks ago. I popped here to see why the diplomatic forum is empty. The eventis doesn't work because you aren't registered, thus you can't see the forum as you are not authorised (as you are not registered). I've been tasked with authorisation of members to forum there, and currently GeoModder, Mart, Chaos, Drogue and Ouro are authorised. Register there and you will see the forum. Eventis itself had no problems at all, I can assure you.
Also, sorry for nitpicking, but since I am already looking at this thread have other Gaians authorised you to send pact proposal to Angels or to ask for HGE (I don't see someone did in this thread) ? Off to clean the forum now.

                        • I'm all in favor of a Pact to cement us closer... I don't think the Angels pose any long-term threat, but they could be profitable friends. As for HGE.... Not sure on that yet

                          • BTW, the Angels has the equivalent of the Planetary Datalinks, right? We really need to keep that in mind.

                            • Here's an idea. (Dont laugh at me too much given my inexperience with MP). Why dont we DataAngels and Gaians turn research to 0% (or near 0 - whatever works best given our efficiency) and direct all our energy towards rush building Base-Improvements/Crawlers/Formers/CPs for at least a little while (say 10 turns). The idea is we're not striving to be the bleeding edge on research, just not to be last in research, but we could strive to have fantasic infrastructure ready for action. Our boreholes will allow us to crank up the research later. We'll get our infrastructure sooner if we slow our research now. I know this may not be a popular idea (in MP games the race is to build the biggest stick) - but just throwing it out there. We wont get too far behind in research if the DataAngels give us everything they get - they could even probe Hive/Spartans/Morgan. What they get in return will be a stronger faction ally who can give them tech at a better rate in the future. (How many of you are going to reply "ridiculous"?) One of the DataAngel's strengths is that they acquire tech from others more readily without having to forge their own. One of our strengths is that we're the only folks with WP. I think its time we both leverage our strengths.

                              • The Angels suggested trading us HEC. Others seemed to assent, so the trade is in progress, pending our turn.

Setting research to 0% would allow us to put just 60% of our total income into energy (compared to 50% with 50/50 allocation). If we dropped Planned, we would get 80% of our total income as energy, but by losing Growth and Industry, we'd have fewer minerals and energy, and rush buys would be more expensive. We'll be better able to judge our energy situation after starting our land bridge project.

I don't expect the DAs to be terribly successful probing Morgan and Santiago (the former because they seem to be depending on armored probes for defense and the latter because of their navy and distance).

The Data Angels seem to get a crippled version of the PDL that requires infiltration.
