            • Interegnum Period Over!

After the sudden disappearing of President Ioannes, the patriotic Jordan Darius Wilhelm II, leader of the opposition party of parliment, had accepted the inter-regnum position untill proper elections could be held. Not that he had much choice as it does say in the constitution that the staunchest opponent will take over the duty of the President should he be incapacitated. Those rules are being revised.

Elections proper have been held, but much to the surprise of the entire nation, a last minute candidate entered the race... the missing Ioannes. Evidently he had been captured by Japanese Ninjas in a desperate attempt to upheave European politics so that Japanese influence may increase in Manchuria. However, he fought them off in their secret dungeon beneath Mt Fuji and swam back. Things are thought to go back to 'normal' in a few months.

              Civilians Trapped In Russia!

Two civilian engineer corps are currently trapped behind Russian lines tonight, the same as had been for months now since the war. Why? They don't have Russian passes. As such, the Russian military bars all passage to them. CUE ministers of foreign relations are working frantically to get them passes back into CUE territory, but it is quite uncertain as to wether or not this will be feasible. Re-elected President Ioannes is said to have said, 'If our civilians are fired upon, or forcibly sent out without their equipment, this will be seen as an act of war. If Russia wants war, we will not refuse them again.'

In other news, the last of the occupation forces have finally moved out of Vilna's suburbs, and are now outside Konigsburg.

PS. Have we reached concensus on RRs? I would like to have that settled before any more potential wars break out.

              • I believe you have yet to vote on the RR issue?

As I recall your predecesor was for, as am I and Choke and I think Sun Tzu. Note sure about Brittain and Russia.

As for the engineer issue it seems like it would be very easy to solve to me, Russia wants them out of there acording to several earlier comuniqés and Germany wants them back. Perhaps some constructive talks would be in order

                • well, why don't we do things according (more or less) to Robert's rules of order? Can we have a motion please???

Heck, I'll make the formal move.

I move that all railroads be removed from our PBEM, save those on industrial squares (squares with mines on them). As such, all other usages of railroads will be prohibitied for any other terrain for any other use.

Ok, now someone second it, or shoot it down. Then we'll put it to a vote. Then we'll figure out how we wish to implement the resolution (assuming it passes).

                  Sounds good?

                    • I'll vote in favour of it if we also change the rules.txt to increase the road multiplier - I'm really counting on trade units reaching their destinations in short periods of time

                        • can we just make the railroads have a multiplier instead? say 1/5

                          Comment

                          • If you know how to modify RR movement so that they're not infinite, then speak up!!!

Otherwise, I didn't think that was possible... otherwise the RR problem wouldn't be a problem in so many PBEMs as the designers would have already done that with the RRs.

                            • You can't change the RR multiplier, I say we make roads 1/6...

And are we supposed to still be able to build rails on hills? Or just leave the ones allready there?

Perhaps it'd be best (though painfull for Italy's economy to be sure) to remove all rails?

                              • Nope, i wont accept removing railroads from the hills, England has too much at stake in regard to production for that to happen.

I dont care whether we remove them, being on an island surrounded by Dreadnoughts im not that worried but if we do then we keep railroads on hills and we are allowed to build them on hills as well.
