Ultimately, I think I'll start in Feb '33. I'll use two sets of units and rules; one will feature things like Polish, Norweigan, Danish, etc. troops, which will switch in, say June '41, when all such units should probably have been eliminated, replacing them with later war tanks and planes. This is the plan right now, anyhow.

Currently, the units I still need are as follows:
-Polish Infantry
-Polish Cavalry
-PZL P-7
-'Demilitarized Zone' (see above) Garrison
-Norweigan Infantry
-Danish Infantry
-Republican Spanish Infantry
-Nationalist Spanish Infantry
-Soviet Cossack Cavalry
-Reichswehr Cavalry (maybe)
-He-111
-Meteor (maybe)
-Vickers Wellington
-Tito's Partisans
If anyone has or can make any of these units in ToT format, I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks in advance!Last edited by Patine; May 22, 2005, 19:57.

Oh, and as a sidenote, a reason for having Poland, Norway, and Denmark as 'contested' powers is so I can 'kill' the Contested Powers civ in May '41, both to finish any lingering stragglers (so they can become Free Polish, Norweigans, and Danish, which will be represented as part of the Free French unit, under British control) and to clear units in their slots for those slots to be available for late-war tanks and planes on the second units and rules set. This prevents lingering Polish infantry and PZL P-7's from turning to Tiger tanks and Me-262's, for instance.

But I play Civ II on a Mac. I have to convert your scenario before trying it.

With 'Empire of the Rising Sun' in full playtesting phase, I've resurrected work on this project, it's Western companion, if you will. I'll detail briefly what I've accomplished in the last two weeks before updating this thread. First, I've decided the Civ's that are going to be used. They are as follows:
-Germans (player civ)
-Pro-German States (Italy including all colonies, Finland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and the Nationalist Spanish)
-Contested States (Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Albania, Denmark, Norway, the Republican Spanish, and Ethiopia)
-Americans (including Cuba and Liberia)
-British/Minor Allies (UK including all colonies, mandates, and protectorates, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxumbourg, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Iceland)
-French (including all colonies and mandates)
-Soviets
-Neutrals (barbarian) (the UAE, Oman, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Guatamala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Venzuela)
-Demilitarized Zones (also barbarian) (Austria, Czech Nation, Danzig, and Rhineland)
-Tito's Yugoslavian Partisans (also barbarian)
-Inviolable Neutrals (impassable terrain) (Haiti, Portugal, Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Persia, Afghanistan, and, later, Spain)
I've decided the time span is Feb '33 to Dec '47, so you have room to excercise various options. You begin with a tiny Reichswehr military, but the big Allies need specific event triggers to go to war with you. I've attached here first the units.bmp for the period of Feb '33 till Dec '41.

I personally think it has pretty good potential this project it does. Its a unique concept I think, to give the German player the chance to have so many different avenue's, both historical and fictional to rise to the position where they can threaten they're European rivals.

Make the FT-17 a generic unit, since many countries used it prior to ww2,
poland had about 174, 102 were usable at the outbreak of ww2,
yugoslavia had about 56
belgium had about 75I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
Rules are like Egg's. They're fun when thrown out the window!
Difference is irrelevant when dosage is higher than recommended!

Looks great, Chris! I've done the advances, units (rules and graphics), improvements (rules and graphics), terrain (rules and graphics), city graphics and most of the city, unit, and improvement placement on the map (largely rigmaroling about roads and railroads currently). What I really need help with is events. Two particular issues are the Spanish Civil War and Vichy France. It must be resolved by Dec '41, when I need to get rid of all Nationalist and Republican Spanish units by then for the units switchover (I'd thought paving over Spain in Inviolable Neutral terrain and blocking Spanish units from leaving), but I need to allow for a satisfactory (or definitely failed) end to the war. As for Vichy France, both Chris and Steph tell me to just drop the idea and make Germany take all French cities, but that's not historically accurate. Does anyone know how I may arrange it with a no-negotiation France with triggered aggression? If not, I may just follow my two esteemed peers' opinion. Any suggestions on either of these issues.
