There are daily demonstartions and protests in the bigger japanese cities nowadays. Most of them are anti war protests but there are pro-war demonstartions and many other ort of things... The japanese seem confused a bit..
"We need peace!" "Down with Russia!" "When will the killing end?"
"Stop the war!" "Your country needs You! Enlist to the military!"
" Down with sparta, We Want Free Japan" "Justice for Japan"

Archelaus, leader of the Greek City States,
Yoshiro Nakamatsu, of Japan,
I welcome your words declaring a cease-fire. I looked forward to my airforce reporting that the terms of the cease-fire (terms 12-15) are fully complied with, at which point I will declare that the cease-fire is true in practice not just in words. Rome will then fully comply. I hope that the precision of the steps of these arrangements does not offend, nor hide the sense of good-will and desire for peace. However history teaches that once previously a Spartan King entered deceitfully into peace negotiations while actually using the moment to prepare a strike against the Koreans, so forgive me for being careful.
I recognise your anxiety about the number of different nations involved. I have written to the other nations involved that if they break the cease-fire Rome will feel free to conclude a peace with the Spartan Empire without there being a simultaneous peace with them.
Nevertheless I assume that the cease-fire will come into existance and so will begin this day to negotiate the peace treaty. The basic terms for peace between Sparta/Japan and Rome are as set out in my earlier proclamation. However there is much to work through, particularly in tying together this world-peace treaty. I believe such work is best done privately, correspondance is on its way to all parties.
Let us build peace.
Marcus of Rome

Japan could not accept cease fire in this turn.
After reviewing the peace offer I can not order my troops to stay down.. not untill we can get reasonable peace terms or we have to fight untill we can.
No Japan could sign a treaty which would mean the loss of Osaka and Owari. We have our National wonders built there, Academies, our great persons settled. If you want to take those cities you better take whole Japan as well.
It will be a fight of honor and courage.. Our riflemen against your monsters.
-We are ready to give up every city we conquered in this war
-You will have all of our cities which is in your hand now
-We are ready to give up up to six more cities which are not on Japan's homeland and not Osaka and Owari
-We are ready to give up 90% of Japan's army to Rome (~60-70 units), and he can do whatever He wants with them (distributing to Russia or others)
-We are ready to pay a lot.
As you see Japan is ready to pay a huge price for the peace.. If you ask for more then your intention is the destruction of Japan. We pray that we can avoid that.
The Oldonians continue to draft, the Wyandots again destroyed innocent villages... we cant just see this and do nothing.
Our troops have advanced in Oldonia and I gathered troops to defend our land.
If we get a reasonable peace offer I would gadly accept cease fire. Lets hope i can give such an order in next turn.

In breaking news, the current King of Oldonia has been overthrown in a pseudo-military coup & replaced with his nephew-a staunch nationalist and close ally of Olaf Peterson. This act was provoked by the former Kings inability to defend Oldonia's coastal cities. Needless to say, the loss of Oldonian Territory will not go unpunished. Prime Minister Petterson has made it clear to his people that the Japanese Untermenschen shall be purged from the borders of Oldonia and-unless they accept a just peace-will be driven from the continent altogether.
So now the Oldonian government gives Japan this ultimatum-return all Oldonian territory, and the city of Anasazi, or face the wrath of my cannons and infantry.
The choice is yours!

Sparta/Japan Break Cease-fire
Alexander
I am greatly saddened to see that the fragile cease-fire between Roman and Sparta/Japan has already been openly broken by Japan. This was not a technical breach but a major invasion of Oldonian territory, mass drafting etc.
The terms laid out were clear.
By all rights, the Roman armies will now continue in their military activity, and it seems we will continue this war until Roman, Wynadot, Oldonian and Russian forces themselves burn out the cancer of militarism from the Sparta and Japanese soul.
I have no desire to see this happen.
You have 6 hours to offer some serious satisfactory reponse to this situation in order to save the cease-fire your vassal has broken.

Marcus,
Just to make it clear: I had not broken the cease fire, simply i could not accept it yet when i could have the chance and I have explained why. (you said we start the cease fire and i could not start it..)
Rome offers us two options:
1, destruction of Japan by their force
2, destruction of Japan by their treaty
the second option is way better for them, but for us leaves no good alternative.
This is what we can offer:

Alexander is the rightfull ruler of Sparta and Japan. The Spartans can choose their leader, but Archeleus rule is not acknowledged by us yet.. and we will not untill we are sure He is willing to protect Japan and not selling it just to save themselves.

On behalf of the American people I sign the Homeland Defense Pact.
We have been putting more funds into defense for the last 50 years.
We have stepped up security and counter espionage. We have begun intensive searches at all entry points into America.

Re: Meduian Homeland Defensive Alliance
The world is a dangerous place. It was just a short time ago that the Romans and Portuguese placed military on our continent and threatened us with war. The Portuguese navy patrols our shores and continues to threaten the Khmer. Rome continues to spread propaganda and lies against us. The Spartans and Japanese have proven to have no fear in starting massive wars against their neighbors. This world is a dangerous place and our security depends on cooperation.
Therefore, his lord majesty, prince of darkness, Ozzy the Bateater is proposing a Homeland Defense Pact. Different from a defensive pact, and different from an alliance, the terms are enclosed:
1. All nations of the continent of Meduian are called upon to defend all Meduian pact members from foreign invasion on Meduian soil.
2. This applies to wars begun by a Meduian member or a foreign power.
3. This applies to wars currently ongoing or wars yet to begin.
4. This pact does not apply to colonies, territories and possessions off the Meduian continent.
5. All nations are expected to provide a reasonable contribution to the continent's defense by boosting their military budget and sharing information.
Signed,
Lars Ulrich
Foreign Minister

Yoshiro Nakamatsu,
I order you to stop all hostilities towards the Pax Romana nations and Oldonia.
I am in the middle of making the best possible peace deal for the Japanese people, at the expense of a Greece favourable peace deal. You shall not destruct my attempts by breaking the peace deal.
If you ignore my commands I order all my armies fighting in Japanese territories home and I withdraw my protection of Japan at once and leave Japan to the mercy of the Romans.

But so be it.. I'm not fool not to see our chances. I'm willing to give time for peace and listen what can you come up with.

The NW Passage Discovered
Notwithstanding the talk of war and destruction in other lands, the small backward nation of America has achieved a historically significant event.
The NW passage through the frozen north has been opened by a few brave souls who sailed through barb infested waters.
We will soon be settling in the north to claim the territory.
In other news a workboat completed a journey of many years to arrive to chears for circumnavigating the continent from the other direction.
Boys left but have arrived home as old men with talk of metal ships and strange machinery that travel on land without the need of horse.
With the opening of the NW passage America invites all good people from all civilizations to celebrate technological and historic achievements rather than war and destruction.

King of Oldonia!,
Our nations lived in peace for countless generations.. I thought we were friends. We are saddened that -to use your words- breathing space is your reason to drop this freindship, attack our people then pretend to be a victim.
We would gadly end this war. We are willing to withdraw our military and give you back that coastal city we would even accept to pay you reparations. "Giving" you the citizens of Anasazi seems not right for us however most likely we will be forced to do so by Rome... truly a shame.

Yoshiro - You lie
You stated publicly (1.14 6th June) thatI gave orders to my generals to not engage any enemy forces only defend if we have to.
Piercia was divided 50/50 between Russia and Japan by treaty. You decided you wanted it all, invading and capturing parts of Russian Piercia. Now you bleat when you face losing Japanese Piercia. Twice at the outbreak of war I gave you the option of remaining outside of this war, and I would guarentee your continuing ownership of 50% of Piercia, but you refused, choosing instead to turn to military means to try to sezie it all.
Those who live by the sword die by the sword.
