Beyond the Pit [Pitboss Diplomacy Game] [Story Thread]
Many came to see the ritual by which Sally would be officially made the Oratress of Storms.
Chamans were in trance, dancing with poisonous snakes. The Greater Chaman stood on the edge of a cliff, with the sea to his left, and a fire to his right. He performed many gestures, calling the elements. He held a staff in his right hand and a stick in his left hand. His head was ornated with horns from some creature of the Piercian Jungles.
When Sally arrived in front of the dancing chamans, they began to sing. If was a warm, deep and slow sound that sourrounded her. She stood in the middle of the chamans, and had to remain there until the sunset.
Once the sun had completely dissapeared, she slowly walked on towards the Great Chaman who was still performing his gestures.
When she stood before the old man, she noticed that his trance was so deep, he was barely aware of her approaching him.
She sat down, and picked up a small stick that had been prepared for her. Once she held it, the old man stopped and took a look at the woman. He fixed her eyes with a cold expression. Everyone was silent for a minute.
Then, the Great Chaman held both arms in the air and yelled :
"Spirits ! Hear my call ! We bring you the chosen one ! May she be your voice and your arm ! Bless her with wisdom and power !"
He repeated this twice. The moarning sound he made after that was the signal for Sally to do her part of the ritual...
She focussed on the air... on the wind. The sound of the waves hitting the cliff became stronger, and the fire fed on the air that she directed towards it and became bigger, brighter.
She pointed her stick towards the Great Chaman, and made it glow. It twinkled like a star. She did the same to the staff and the stick the old men held.
The other chamans resumed their singing and dancing, and the Empress joined the two main actors at the edge of the cliff.
She gave both of them holy berries that grew in the jungle nearby. Three for each of them.
The taste was bitter, and Sally didn't like it at all. But as soon as she thought that, the taste changed to a very sweet one. She didn't let the others noticed how funny she found all of this.
What she didn't expect, was the effect that the berries would have on her. She felt dizzy... everything around her seemed to move and she had problems with staying focussed. She stood up, but it simply became worse. She began to slowly move sidewards, and could barely stand. She understood that there was now point in trying to fight this, so she closed her eyes and let things happen.
She lifted off the ground, and mist began to rise from the ocean. The crowd was impressed, she truely had to be the one the prophecy told them about.
She floaded over the fire, with the flames dancing all around her, but the mist cooled her down, so that she took no harm. She was amused by the situation. Almost everyone around thought she was some kind of half-god or whatever while she felt like a child making it's first steps. She let the wind become stronger.
She told Iris and the old man to stand back for what she would try next, so they did. The old man was absolutely mesmerized by what he saw, not to mention that he took some berries too.
She made the wind turn all around her, taking the flames with it. In the middle, eveything was perfectly calm, but she now was surrounded by a true firestorm. That didn't last very long since the power of this quickly consumed the pile of wood the fire had been made from. So as soon as the last flames died, she gathered the smoke and pushed it high into the sky. the small cloud it formed began to grow with her smiling at it. She didn't care about anything else now, she simlply had fun trying things.
After an hour of spectacular modelling of the elements, Sally fainted, but one of the chamans was fast enough to catch her before she would have hitten the ground.
The impact woke her up, she looked at the man, and at Iris now standing next to the man. The Empress told her :
"I think this was enough for today. You did a perfect job, Oratress." The smiling face of Iris was the last thing she saw before fainting again.
There was one woman in the crowd who didn't know what to think. Should she be confident because the Oratress had come to them, or should she be worried, thinking there may be others like her in other lands ? Her troops would never be able to fight someone like her. The El-Ey-Fats were kittens compared to that sorceress. At least, doing that exausted her quickly. Kalima escoreted the chaman who carried her to her chambers in the palace, with some difficulties with hiding her happyness about having her on her side.
OOC :Making that last image took me 1 hour ! I never got something that satisfied me and fittet my description, so i finished by posting this, somehow modest version of what i made. I'll post one of my tries in the OOC chat thread, simply because i don't want to see 45min of working wasted ^^.
Siham arrived at Mound City and greeted the Wyandots at the city's southern entrance. She immediatly showed the scroll she was carrying with her and hopefully smiled at the guards.

Greetings, inhabitants of Mound City,
We send you the last survivor of our regiment that was defeated while protecting your city. She expressed the wish to benefit of the training of your greatest bowmasters, and We granted her that wish along with the charge of Ambassador of the Piercian Empire.
We hope your city can be a new home for this child of our Empire that risked it's life for defending it.
After much deliberation Empress Rin made peace with the Leaf village. After centuries of war Japan was finally at peace. All the hidden villages came out of hiding and the shadow counsel was reformed. A new shogun was chosen from one of the Leaf village’s most pristine clans. Hinata Hyuga was chosen to be the next shogun. She was the cousin of Neji Hyuga and next in line to be the leader of the Hyuga clan. She was fully trained to use the special bloodline train that ran in her clan called the byakugan. The byakugan allowed the user to see 360degrees around and it allowed them to see 60 miles in any direction and trough any object. She was also a master of the gentle fist tyjutsu, which allowed her to use her chokra to damage her opponents internally. With Hinata as the new shogun peace rained of many years.
OOC: @Japan, that girl two posts up with the zombie eyes looks like she is eagerly awaiting alien tentacle sex. You know that is all those wide eyed Jap anime girls are good for, right? :aliententacle:
Empress Rin saw it important to expand at home before expanding onto foreign lands. She ordered Hinata to got to the north and eliminate anyone up there. So in the cover of night Hinata and a small force went to the North and eliminated everyone.
On the way back the a man with long red hair was spotted again but when Hinata turned to investigate the man was gone and she couldn’t spot him at all.

It is with great pleasure that the citizenry of Mound City opens their doors to the newly appointed Ambassador of the Piercian Empire.
As an update, our battle with the dark-skinned heathens is going rather well. Soon, Wyandot forces will start pushing northwards in order to seize the barbaric encampments which are known to exist in the region. Peace and security for all civilized people in our region will soon be at hand.
Signed,
Lord Tombaka, Seneschal of Mound City on behalf of Chief Tarhe, leader of the Wyandot Nation
Lord I bring news from Rome, they said no to our trade offer. It seems they have already made the deal with the Russians.
Vixur:
But how can that be?
Messenger:
It looks like the offer they had just a couple of days ago is no longer available. It seems they were negotiating with other parties as well.
Vixur:
I do not understand, this trade was offered by the Romans and now what they pulled out from it?
Messenger:
It seems so my lord!
Vixur:
By opening borders with these people I hoped that trade will increase and deals will be made. It seems to me they were never taking us seriously.
Messenger:
Well Lord Vixur, the Romans say that they wait for new suggestions.
Vixur:
Hmmm these Romans are hard to trust, they make an offer and then pull out from it, how I am suppose to sign deals with such people.
Send a message to the Russians, from what I understand they soon will be able to trade as well. Maybe they will want to trade with us. We should not think that all will treat us like the Romans. Until now we have had only fair dealings with the Russians from the east.
Messenger:
What should I tell the Romans Lord?
Vixur:
Well tell them that I am sadden by this development and I hope that in the future we will be more successful working together. Give them this wine as a gift!
The doors of Lacedaemon's house opened.
A very happy looking Spartan man left the house.
Then the guards closed the doors again.
All Spartan soldiers looked confused.
"These messengers from the Oldonians and the Piercians seek to speak with Lacedaemons" one soldier finally said to the guards.
"Lacedaemon told us to let them wait for now" one of the guards responded.
The night was falling. The heat of the day was leaving the streets of Sparta. People became uncomfortable.
Daneus, leader of the 'Oldonian' group once again started to talk:
"Why are we waiting for hours and hours in front of the house of Lacedaemon? The cold is falling on the streets of Sparta. Is this how we treat our guests?"
The same guard answered: "Sparta is not known for is comfortability. After the Corinthian and Athenian armies destroyed most of Sparta, many years ago, most Spartan citizen had to sleep under the bare sky for weeks during the winter. If your guests really want meet the Spartanians then they shouldn't shy away from suffering a tad bit with the Spartanians. Lacedaemon will be ready when he's ready. Your people have traveled many moons and many winters, why this uproar about a few hours more or less?"
Inside the house Lacedaemons prime adviser said: "For how long do you want to let them wait?"
"Till I know what these are like. They came from far. I really know nothing about them. Observe them. We will learn more about these people by letting them wait then by talking for many hours with them." Lacedaemon responded.
Daneus walked towards Captain Kirk and Achmed: "Lacedaemon isn't ready yet. He has very important matters on hands. Please wait a little more."
Then he walked away again. Only to return to say: "I'm sorry...."
Kirk spoke to his crew and advised them to continue their travels. He sadi his farewells and gave charge to his Science office Spock.
He told them he would meet the Spartans then walk to the other side of this place and reunite with his crew then.
A young engineer officer Scotty was a little concerned the repairs werent fully completed before sailing saying something like " ack these oars cant take any more captain"
The medical officer documented the differences between the Spartans and the Oldonians but noted many similarities.
"Report to the FOOS of my mission here Mr Spock" ordered Kirk as he returned to the city to speak more with the Pierced ambassadaer while he waited for the spartan leader.
General Bok Jigyeom rushed into Wang Geon's quarters, bloodied and beaten, he was breathing heavily and clutching his ribcage, "Princess... my lord, the Aztecs have amassed on the opposite banks of the Han, one of their units is badly battered though, our men did as best they could."
Wang Geon was not pleased, an army under General Shin Sung was en route to Seoul from Pyongyang, but it seemed they would not arrive in time. "Muster more men!" he said to General Bok Jigyeom, he didn't like the man much but other than Gang Jo he was the most experienced man he had for the job in Seoul, and Gang Jo was busy commanding the defenses.
"Sir, I don't know that I can make it, I'm badly wounded." he muttered, the Princess quickly came to his aide.
"Sire, he's right" she said, lifting up a leather plate of armor, "look at this."
She revealed a large bloody gash "Their axmen sir, they've injured me."
"Guards" Wang Geon said, they quickly grabbed the General "Have these wounds tended to..." he said leaning over his desk "...damn it..."
Outside of (what used to be) Wonsan...
Subo guzzled an entire pitcher of water as he sat by the Han river, "Thank you so much General, I'm sorry I forgot your name?"
"Bae" was the response, "Bae Hyeongyeong, and I am a General no longer. I am a diplomat, headed towards Tikal, to the court of Pacal."
"I was on a mission of my own" Subo lamented "I have failed miserably, these people here didn't know the Aztecs were coming, I've failed them."
"Well, it is not your job, you are a monk. War is not your concern, we should have guarded this villiage, it could have kept the Aztecs at bay. Where did they go?" Bae asked.
"They headed south, they are probably going along the river which means-"
"Which means they will arrive in Seoul" Bae said, staring into the dirt "Ugh, this is hopeless!"
Hae Mosu and Jumong dragged a battered corpse towards Subo and Bae "Here's Daeso" Jumong said, "You can tell by his clothing, so everyone was eradicated, 'cept for you there monk."
"Okay, I think we'd better head back to Seoul" Bae began "This mission is not important right now, we have to help them."
Hae Mosu interjected "No, that is impossible, this mission is important, it is imperative that we gain Mayan support against this scum, and it is important that you go. You are a well respected man, and an official ambassador."
"What if there is no Seoul to come back to!?!?" Bae exclaimed.
"General" Jumong said, "We have our orders, and you know that they are important, we'll take the little monk along with us."
"I am Subo" Subo said, rising to his feet.
"That's wonderful" Jumong replied "Let's get the hell out of here, in case there are more coming..."
Night fell and the city of Kyoto was asleep. The only one awake was Empress Rin who was jumping from roof to roof making sure her city was ok. In the distance she saw a group of men surrounding a red hair man. The man with red hair look familiar to Rin like a person from her past. “No it can’t be,” she said to herself. She got closer and as she did the group of men surrounding the red haired man all attacked at once. She sat back and just watched as the group of 15 fully armed and heavily armored men just drop like flies to this smaller man with only a revers blade sword. She watched carefully and noticed that the style the red haired man used was the Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu style. There was no dought in her mind that he was a decedent of the Oda clan. She ran closer but by the time she got to were the men laid completely blacked out, the red haired man was gone. None of the men were killed but none were able to move for hours.
