  • having been there before, Hong Yu couldn't help being amazed by the city's wonders. Not only had the exotic animals of the surrounding jungles piqued his interest, but the construction of the city's great wonders had also given him a greatly improved impression of the Mayan people and their leadership. He approached the palace, completely oblivious to Pacal's sickness or the fact that things were tense within the Mayan court. Especially among the elders.

Hong approached the palace with emense pride with what he was doing, he felt as ambassador to the Mayans he was doing something great for his country, the guards didn't share this sentiment. Hong Yu thought to himself "Damn, how do, oh yes" and in Mayan said "I am Hong Yu, representing the court of his majesty the Supreme King Wang Geon of Korea, I have a missive directly from my lord for your Pacal."

The Mayan guards looked at him intensely, one of them took a step forward towards Hong Yu "Show me your master's insignia" he said, the guards were worried about a possible assassination attempt, despite Pacal's illness there were those who wanted him out of the picture within Tikal, and a fake diplomat from Korea would be one way of doing it, of course the guard wasn't going to let Hong Yu see Pacal anyway "Well" he said eyeing the Korean symbol presented by Hong Yu "You will not be able to see Pacal, I can bring him your message."

Hong Yu was dissapointed "I was quite looking forward to seeing him, I want to send-"

"Give me your message." the guard said bluntly, Hong Yu's entourage was getting upset at the way the gaurds were treating their General, Hong Yu gave them a knowing look, telling them to relax.

"Here you are, now I understand there would be-" again the guard interrupted him.

"Please, you must go now, I will deliver your message immedeately, but you must leave" the guard did not want to tell them it was for their own safety, but that was precisely why.

    Here is the letter...

    TO: Pacal of the Maya
FROM: Supreme King Wang Geon of Goguryeo, land of the Koreans

We are pleased to inform you that the Korean people and their Supreme King, his majesty Wang Geon, accept your proposal for a border agreement. We hope that this will lead to our mutual prosperity and unfettered brotherhood for millenia to come.

Hopefully this shall lead to a great future for our two states, and we can learn to understand eachother better. We shall extend an invitation for you and your family to come to Seoul and dine with his majesty Wang Geon as our royal guests. We hope this is a possibility for you and look forward to your visit.

    Thank you.

-Supreme King Wang Geon of Goguryeo-

    Back in Seoul...

"What does he want with us?" Princess Sinjeong asked Gang Jo as they approached Wang Geon's camp. The Lama Jinul was close behind, but he hardly spoke Korean and didn't understand the conversation.

"He simply wishes to speak with you, he is just concerned for your father, his unit has yet to return to Seoul, he tried to see him himself, but he apparently went out on campaign." Gang lied, he hated doing it, he had strong feelings for this princess already.

"And you searched his home?" the Princess asked, she knew her father didn't leave, and she suspected that Wang Geon killed him, she was certain the same fate would come to her and now Lama Jinul, but there wasn't much they could do.

"Well, yes, he wasn't there and the monks informed us that he had gone on campaign" he lied, he suspected she knew it, and wasn't sure how much this Lama knew.

"And Wang Geon, he was there?" she asked.

"Yes, why do you ask Princess?" he replied nervously.

"There is no reason, I am just concerned for my father, adn I am a bit nervous to meet Wang Geon, its a good thing we have great men like him to come protect us while father is away." she said, a tear left her eye.

"Why are you crying?" Gang Jo asked, he think he already knew the answer.

"Nothing, its just the thought of my father, you said he hasn't... he hasn't returned and I don't know-"

"You stop it, you're going to be fine, nothing will happen to you I promise." he said, he whiped a tear from her cheek, "This is it, right here, Wang Geon is inside, he would much like to speak with you."

Why would anything happen to me?" the Princess asked, Gang Jo realized he made a mistake.

"No reason, I just said it. Wang Geon is a good man, he just wants to make sure you're safe is all, you know, in case something happened to Gung Ye."

Jinul finally spoke up "Is this Gung Ye now, I speak with Gung Ye now."

"Not yet Lama, first the Princess, then you."

"Well Princess, he will see you now..."

    • "Ah, Princess Sinjeong, I trust you had a safe trip to my humble camp." Wang Geon said arrogantly, he was impressed with Gung Ye, he had created a beautiful woman.

"Yes lord Wang Geon, your man Gang Jo was polite and accomodating." she said demurely.

"Yes, well, I am sure you are worried about your father, as we all are, I can assure you I have men-"

"I know he didn't go on campaign." she muttered.

Wang Geon felt a chill rise up his spine, what had she told the Lama? Who else knew? Did she know he had sent him to Tikal? To certain death? "I'm sorry Princess, I did not hear you."

"I said" she replied "I know he didn't go on campaign, he told me, he didn't want to leave me here, and he didn't believe in this war, he was prepared to make negotiations for peace, he was afraid the people would rise against him if he did without going first on campaign, his men know it, and they are loyal and they will return to make war on you."

Wang Geon smiled "Princess, why would they make war on me? I have come to protect Seoul, I will gladly welcome the return of Gung Ye, if we knew where he is."

"You know where he is, you sent him to the Maya." she said "And I suspect they have killed him."

"Guards, leave us" Wang Geon said, the princess looked to the guards, but they kept their resolve, "Wait a minute, wait a minute" Wang Geon continued, "Here, take my weapons, I want her to know she shall be safe..."

      Just outside of the camp...

Bok Jigyeom looked down into the valley that held Wang Geon's camp "What in the hell?" he said to himself, "are these men from Seoul?"

His lieutenant shook his head "Pyongyang, see that symbol there, its Pyongyang. What are they doing here?"

"Protecting Seoul perhaps, maybe Gung Ye called for them." The war band was down to only eight men, the vast majority had died on their long, arduous journey "Well, I'm not sure that we should go down there just yet, we should send somebody into Seoul to find Gung Ye."

"Wait, no!" his lieutenant said "What if they've killed him, I know Wang Geon and Gang Jo, they are jealous of Seoul, it is sacred land that the Buddha visited, and they resent us for it. They're probably here to support the Mayans!"

"That's ridiculous, why would they help the Maya?" Bok Jigyeom replied, he knew that it wasn't too far fetched, the people of Pyongyang did share the language and culture of the people of Seoul, but there was always a competitive rivarly there. It wasn't that hard to believe that it could foment into a coup, and he knew it.

"Why are they in a camp here? Why aren't they in Seoul itself?"

"Good point" Bok Jigyeom said "Okay, I'll go in there."

      "But sir!"

"You said yourself, you know them, and they'd recognize you" he said as he stood up and began taking off his uniform "They don't know me, I'll find Sinjeong in case they have Gung Ye in captivity, they may have made a deal with the Maya, who knows what has happened. Best case scenario they are here to help and Gung Ye is safe, worst case scenario I'll come back here, and we'll figure something out..."

      • The fishing company had set up its new HQ on Alacatraz Island. From here they could monitor the fishes journey to feeding grounds around the southern ocean.

Alcatraz was a desolate island, no inhabital space. A few shacks along the beach was all that had been erected.

The fishing company would unlaod here and in afew shacks the fish was prepared for the long haul back to Oldonia central.

Over the centuries, many forgien fishing craft had joined the Oldonians too.

Due to the different cultures and languages the people of Alcatraz had made a new language called Nipoldian.

It allowed them to interact and trade different fishing products.

Whilst out at sea piracy and often almost all out war was fought, on the island it was a refuge for all.

        • Many years have passed and Lord Zanza returned to Kyoto. He wasn’t the same evil person he was before though. He was respectful to every one and seemed to be a new person. He walked up to general Jade and thanked her for her loyalty. He promoted her to full Shogun and announced that for now on he was to be known as emperor Lee. He told the people that for now on no one would die by the hands of a fellow Japanese. He said that the Shogun would now be the one in charge of the army and will serve the imperial court. One country, one dream, one purpose; those were the words of the new emperor. He gave money to all the workers and also gave them food. Only a few were to remain working on the pyramid, which was going to be Japan’s sign of peace and hope. Others opened up shops while others decided to join the military. Japan was finally at peace and it was all do to the teachings of an Oldonian lieutenant who taught him how to be a leader who would be loved by all his people forever.

          • Alcatraz Island

You will do as i say screamed the General as he beat the young soldier.

Where have you been, why didnt you complete my mission in Nippon

The soldier was covered in blood and tied to the back of the Fishing hut. Lieutenant Bob Hawke was breathing heavy blood in his mouth . But he answered nothing.

You are a fool Hawke, your insolence will not go unanswered. the general turned to his helpers through him to the sharks

Hawke was carried down to the waters edge and they prepared to throw him in.

Suddenly he struggled agaisnt his bonds and tore the ropes that held him. He threw the helpers into the water and then ran into the hut and snarled at the General.

You seem to be trembling there sir, it is your time of reckoning The young hawke grabbed an axe from the wall and swung it at the general. His head rolled to the ground.

This is the start of the end for the tyranny of your type stated Hawke.

But the time was not fullfilled yet and Hawke was now in danger from the military.

He escaped the island on a friendly fishing boat that headed south.

and so was born the first Oldonian Axe Warror.

            • The first order the new shogun jade gave was to secure all our border islands and send out to of Japan’s oldest units to find the Oldonians. The fleet was sent to guard the south while Zanza’s Wrath and the White Lotus were sent north to find any out post near Japanese waters and escort them out of Japanese waters. They could not allow anyone that did not have the emperor’s blessing stay in Japanese waters stay. Only those loyal to Japan were allowed to enter our waters. The emperor sent out a message to all who we have contacted or have contacted us. It read:

Greeting to all. I am Emperor Fang Lee. I wish to let you know that from now on any ship entering Japanese must be escorted by one of our war ships and is subject to a search. If any weapons are found they will be seized and the crews detained until a hearing in front of the imperial court is conducted. If found guilty the ship will be destroyed and the prisoners will be executed, if found innocent the crew will be sent back to their home land but the ship will still be destroyed. If everything goes smoothly during the search you will be allowed to pass with restrictions. If you go off course your ship will be fired upon and destroyed. Only one ship may come at a time any more and it will be considered an act of war and we will respond in deadly force. If you wish to petition to allow more then one ship because of war reasons, you must arrange a meeting with the imperial court and they will decide if you can or cannot. If you wish to resolve this matter in a faster way you must give a tribute of money or troops to Japan. We do not wish to go to war since we have just finished fighting ourselves. So please follow the rules and no one will have any problems.

              • The Despot council recieved the letter from the Shogun and read it with great excitement.

As foretold by the Great One. The Japanese were indeed a reasonable people

A letter was drafted immediately in reply.

                To the Shogun,

                From the Council of Oldonia.

It is with great pleasure that our nations have met finally. We wish only peace in our area. We invite you to join with us in keeping the world a peaceful place.

The Oldonian Fishing Company has been directed to not fish in Japanese waters and will remain well away from your home islands.

We wish you well in your plans for your empire.

If the Oldonians can be of assistance at any time please feel free to call on us.

We would love to set up an exchange of ambassaders with a mansion being newly created on the shores of the Western Sea for any person you elect to hold this position of ambassader to Oldonia.

If you are in agreement we wil lsend the son of our high priest Razite to your empire to keep communications close.

As an aside we are seeking the whereabouts of one of our soldiers. he has gone missing and was last seen in your waters. He is Lieutenant Bob Hawke. We are unsure of his intentions and the High Council urgently need to speak to him.

                Your friends

                The Oldonians

Under cover of darkness a dark painted boat approached the shore line. About a hundred yards off shore four dark robed characters dove overboard and swam towards shore. The boat turned and headed back to Alcatraz Island.

                  • Exploring together

The piercian exploration party was followed by the roman one southwards. In the thick jungle, the Piercians were a little faster. They spotted something ! One of them was sent to the roman expedition :

"Barbarian warriors ahead ! Prepare yourself for some fighting !"

                    • The warband of Bae Hyeongyeong returned to Pyongyang bearing nothing but tales of rabid wolves, bloodthirsty bears and of course rampaging barbarians (who were quickly rebuffed by the Korean soldiers), however this was not enough. Wang Geon demanded that his troops locate distant civilizations and open up new dialogue with possible Korean neighbors. He explained that they had found mountain ranges and nothing more beyond that, but Wang Geon was not impressed; he had aims to unify the Korean people and establish a greater Korean Kingdom. Goguryeo was already in his posession (a large swath comprising both Seoul and Pyongyang, his own homeland). Bae was commissioned to again travel west in search of something, anything, that would add luster to Wang Geon's reign. On his second trip Bae would be more successful...

                      Far Away From Pyongyang...

The group had been travelling again for months on end, Bae was growing tired of this job. He was a loyal soldier to Wang Geon, he never spoke against him and always obeyed him, and yet Hong Yu and Gang Jo got all the glory; they were involved in intrigue, they were there for the takeover of Seoul and they got to travel to the Mayan court and the splendid city of Tikal. Where was he? He was sent into the vast wilderness, he was sent to fight animals, to fight barbarians, and to do nothing but map out terrain.

"C'mon, just over this ridge boys!" he commanded, "The we'll see what we have ahead here, Shin Sung!" he cried towards his lieutenant.

"Yes sir" Shin Sung said as he rushed to his master's side.

"Are these the same mountains? The same we passed before?"

"No sir, those are further south, these are new." Shin Sung explained.

"Okay, I need ten men, we are going to see what lies beyond!" he ordered, more than ten quickly ran to the task and they travelled further up the mountain...

                      Back in Seoul...

The Princess Sinjeong and Wang Geon had a long discussion that night in the tent. It was admitted by Wang Geon that they did in fact come to Seoul to speak with Gung Ye, but he lied and said he forced the warlord to go to the Maya himself and attempt to gain peace. He said Gung Ye never returned, but the Princess was no fool and knew in her heart that her father was sent to certain death. However she knew that Wang Geon was in control, and if she stirred the waters further he would put her in her place. She agreed that marriage was her only solution. If she gave him a son she could cement her family's position again, and then she could take her revenge against Wang Geon and restore her family to prominence again in Seoul. This plot was not discussed with anyone, and was unknown to Gang Jo who had developed feelings for the young princess, this situation would cause a giant rift in the dynasty's history, but that was years away...

Wang Geon had assembled a group of musicians to play some traditional Korean music at the palace, Gang Jo was present but was not amused by the display set up by his master. He wanted so bad to tell the princess what Wang Geon had done, he wanted so badly to tell the princess how he felt, but he knew his role. He knew he could never do that, at least not now, he had to find the right time to strike, "Cheer up Gang Jo, this is a celebration" Wang Geon said, heartily slapping his friend on the back.

"Of course sir" Gang Jo said.

"What's the matter? Are you drunk?" the Supreme King asked laughing "You've got to lighten up r-right, now, perhaps I am the one who's had too many drinks."

"Of course not sir, I was just-"

"Look how beautiful she is" Wang Geon said, referring to the princess, who dutifully sat and watched the band play; she did not partake in the wine.

"Yes sir, she is quite a flower indeed." Gang Jo said bluntly.

"You know what yer prolemsis?" Wang stuttered "Isat you need to find a womanfer a woman fer yerselves." Wang Geon explained.

"General Wang Geon himself!" Hong Yu said, raising his arms, spilling wine on the floor "Look at you, you fat bastard!"

"Hey!" Wang Geon said, smiling "I should have you impaled! C'mere gives me a hug!"

The two men embraced, and Gang Jo smiply looked at her; how could she do this? This drunken idiot! He thought to himself...

                      Back In The Mountains...

"Who are they Shin Sung?" Bae Hyeongyeong asked, they had seen a group of strange men standing in the distance, they seemed to be prepared for battle.

"Not sure, they don't look Korean, they're dressed funny." Shin Sung thought to himself "You know sir, they look, well they kinda look like...

"...those men we passed, the Greek men who were around Pyongyang, they said they were Athenians I believe." Shin Sung explained "I'm not certain, there's no real way to be other than to approach them."

The General thought to himself "Well if they are prepared for war perhaps we should maintain our position and see what happens, besides they look better equipped than we do, and we don't want to create any trouble, especially after we just closed aggression with the Maya."

"If we send a small contingent I am sure they will not attack, how could they, maybe a couple of men." Shin Sung said.

"You're right, okay, we'll write a note to them, hand me Wang Geon's emblem..."

This Missive From Authority of Wang Geon, Supreme King of Goguryeo and Master of Korea

On behalf of his majesty the Supreme King of Goguryeo I greet you. We have been sent to find and destroy the barbarian villiage that has been fabled to be in these lands. Our city of Pyongyang has been attacked twice by these scum and we have been sent to destroy them. Our army has found some units of these horrible people and have vanquished them. This is why we are armed, we wish peace and to speak with you about the lands beyond this range. We are familiar with you, the Greek people, and wish to maintain our current status of peace. • While traveling north The White Lotus spotted a ship near a small island. the ship matched a description of a ship that kept entering our waters. Not wanting to move in alone the captain sent a messenger bird to Zanza's Wrath which was currently stationed on the other side of Japan. A few hours passed and the captain of Zanza'd Wrath received the message from The White Lotus. the captain sent the bird back with another message for The White Lotus telling them that they will be departing in two days to drop off two units off at the main land so they could find a place on the to settle on the main land as a place for diplomacy and if necessary a staging area for war; so it would take 3 days before Zanza's Wrath could join them. After reading the letter the captain of The White Lotus decided to wait and just monitor the ship for any suspicious movements.

We thank you for your compliance and hope that our peoples have a long lasting peace between us. We ask that when referring to us you do not call us nips since you are outsiders thus unworthy to be considered as equals to the great Japanese. As for your man that you seek if we find him we will send him back to you on the first transport out. As for ambassadors at this time we will not allow anyone on our island but we are planning on building a city off the cost. once done we will be willing to accept and send ambassadors.

                          • After many months the Spartan army met a small group of Korean warriors. The Spartans screamed of joy, started to stamp their feet, ready for the war!

"Kill the weak!" one soldier yelled.
"Who's got the power should use the power" another one said.
"What's up, Korean schoolboys? You got lost in the big world?"
"Look, they only carry a piece of wood, what are they going to do with that? build a fire?" *laughing*

Many Spartans prepared their bows, ready to take out most of the Korean warriors.

"Wait" the Spartan leader, Lacedaemon, said.
He raised his arm and showed the "stop" sign.

                            Both amies faced each other.
Nothing happened for a while. Nobody said a word.
The Koreans were clearly in awe by the number and the equipment of their enemies.

A Korean warrior closed in to the Spartan army.
"Do they know we are their enemies?" Lacedaemon asked.
"They most probably don't even know the difference between Athenians and Spartans", one of the chieffs responded.

The messenger of Korea arrived, bowed for Lacedaemon, and told him that he had a message from Wang Geon, Supreme King of Goguryeo and Master of Korea.

"There is no barbarian village in the fields behind us" Lacedaemon responded.
"You will find the beautiful city of Sparta, if you continue your path" he continued. "But we will not let you pass."

Return this message to your king or your general:

From Lacedaemon, leader of the Spartan army.

We, people from Sparta, long to hear about the war between the Koreans and the Mayans.
We also want to make it very clear that nobody can move through the pass of the horses.
If you do not call your troop of warriors back we have to kill all of them.

We from Sparta don't use fancy words. We make our message clear and won't warn a 2nd time.

When the messenger had left again, one of the chieffs asked Lacedaemon: "You didn't tell him that we want to aid the Mayans."
"First I need news from the front of war, apparantly Korea and Sparta are neighbours. If there's no Maya army to join forced with against the Koreans, then we shouldn't be to hasty to declare war upon them." Lacedaemon said.

"But they're weak! We can kill all of them without even losing a single man!" a soldier yelled.

"They are weak. And we will kill them if they try to move through the pass of the horses." Lacedaemon responded. "But you will not be among us if we either make peace or wage war, because stupid rage cannot be tollerated amongst the people of Sparta. Kill him."

The young soldier was killed immediately. His body was left at the ground as a warning to all.
None of the soldiers dared to yell in anger at the Koreans. Nobody dared to suggest total war again.

Most of them hoped that the Koreans would head into the direction of Sparta nevertheless. They were ready to use their bows and their arrows.
