      • Jade approached the waterfall at the edge of the jungle. there standing by the water was the Oldonian man waiting for her. she ran to him and kissed him. meanwhile the spy who was following her saw the two together kissing. the spy recognized the man as the Oldonian lieutenant who was wanted by his people for questioning. the spy quickly turned back to Kyoto to tell Emperor Lee what he saw.
Back at the waterfall Jade and the Oldonian man held each other. they sat down and Jade told him that she was with child. the man was so happy he jumped up and yelled with joy. Jade was happy too but she know that if the imperial court were to ever find out that she would be executed. so they sat and tried to come up with some way to save themselves and their child. 1 hr pass and they decided that they would just run off to one of the southern islands that were still controlled by the Takada clan. Lord Takada was against Emperor Lee because he know that no matter what he called himself he would always be the power crazed evil tyrant Lord Zanza.
Jade told the Oldonian man to wait for her in the cave till she returned. she went back to Kyoto to say good by to her family before she left. when she got back Emperor lee was waiting for her. she was shocked to see him and asked him why he was out alone so late. Emperor Lee looked at her with a cold glare and said, " How could you of all people betray me?" she had no answer for him. " I trusted you most. You were to take over when I was died. Tell me...was it worth it?" said Lee. Jade answered simply ,"yes." Lee then ordered the guard to put her in holding and sent his ninja to find the Oldonian man and bring him to the palace. the ninja easy captured the Oldonian man and brought him to Emperor Lee. when they got to the palace Emperor Lee was sitting and Jade was tied up next to him. the man tried to break lose but it was to no avail. Lee walk to the man and looked straight into his eyes and said, " Because of you this land has lost its only chance for a peaceful ruler. tonight you will be returned to your people and in 2 weeks Jade will die all because of you." he turned to his guards and told them to send the man back to his people. the man struggled to free himself but it was too late. Jade was taken away and he was knocked out.

          • Pyongyang...

Princess Sinjeong arrived with both Lama Jinul and his new apprentice Subo. Her mission was two-fold; firstly she wanted her impious husband, the Supreme King Wang Geon, to fully adopt the Buddhist faith (which had been lacking in his hometown of Pyongyang) by commissioning a monastery in the Holy City of Seoul. Up until this time the monks had maintained their position in the Jogye Mountain range, with little to no contact with the Korean people (they spoke a strange language that nobody recognized), and recently they sent Jinul on a goodwill mission to the Warlord Gung Ye who was an ardent Buddhist. Her second mission was to further her plot against Wang Geon - he ultimately lead to the demise of her father, and she never forgot this.

"Princess Sinjeong" Gang Jo said "A pleasure." She merely gave a slight bow "Lama Jinul, how are the Korean lessons going?"

"Oh very very good" he said, nodding his head quickly "yes good."

"Well then, excellent" General Gang Jo said "Right this way please, Wang Geon awaits, and don't worry, this meeting will be very private, just as you asked princess." he finished, with a smile, the curtains were drawn and there sat Wang Geon, in fully royal dress upon his throne.

The King looked at his beautiful princess, his feelings were mixed obviously. Whe he and the princess first spoke it was clearly indicated to him that she knew what had occured, the princess was shrewd - she explained the only way Wang Geon could maintain his position was to marry Sinjeong and father a child. Of course Wang Geon did not like this arrangement, but the army of Seoul was bigger than his own, and he needed her to appease the Buddhist population. Besides this she was correct; without a child Wang Geon's actions would have been in vain, "Princess Sinjeong, Lama Jinul, welcome to my humble abode!"

The Princess bowed, Subo bowed, and Jinul quickly followed suit "Your majesty." Sinjeong said simply.

"It is a pleasure to be in the presence of the great Lama Jinul, great and well-travelled might I add." he said, then he went silent "General Gang Jo, please, you may take your leave."

"Of course sir" General Gang Jo said, bowing, "Princess." he said, bowing once more before taking his exit.

"And who is this young man?" Wang Geon asked.

"This is Subo, he is apprentice to Lama Jinul." the Princess explained.

"I see" said Wang Geon "And I understand Jinul has learned Korean, does this apprentice of his understand our dialect as well?"

"Of course I do your-" Subo began, he was quickly interrupted.

"I did not tell you to speak!" Wang Geon said bluntly "Subo."

"Yes your majesty" the Princess said, she could not stand Wang Geon "He is from Seoul my lord."

Wang Geon realized he couldn't test this princess as much as he was used to testing his generals "I am sorry, you see we have had much going on here in my court, which is why my generals are out on important missions. I have sent the great negotiator, Hong Yu, to speak with the Greeks to establish borders, and we are awaiting a response from the Maya concerning our invitation. Things are..." he said, glaring at his princess "...tense, so to speak."

"I understand your majesty, but Subo has come to speak for Jinul, his Korean is going well, but as you can see he is quite old, and the mind doesn't soak up as much as it did when it was young, don't you agree?"

Wang Geon considered this a slight against her own youth compared to his advancing years "I suppose, well Subo, what have you envisioned?"

Subo nervously approached the throne "Your highness, as you can see the monks of Jogye are not long for this earth, their monastery, while important and very sacred, can no longer represent the greatness of the Buddha's words. He came to Seoul after all, and there he achieved nirvana. It stands to reason that a great house be built for our monks, and the people will applaud you of course, as a great and mighty King, a Holy King."

Wang Geon licked his lips and toyed with his beard "Of course, this will be costly, it is apparent that our borders with our neighbors are much closer than once thought, much of our resources must go towards our military."

"That is understood sir" Subo continued "But as you have said yourself, and as I understand we have made peace and established permenant borders with our neighbors, I believe a small amount of our resources could go towards this monastery. It would go a great deal towards your appeasement of the people of Seoul, rumors run rampant on the streets sir."

"WHAT RUMORS!?!?!" the King said, rising from his throne.

"Your excellency" the Princess began, she realized that Wang Geon may have misunderstood the boy "The rumors that you do not believe in the words of the Buddha, those rumors."

"Yes, of course" he said sitting down in his seat "Those rumors," this princess was smarter than she deserved to be he thought "Very well, you will have your monastery, now, let us dine!"

North, on the banks of the Han River...

Jigong sat by the river, drinking his wine, eating his bread and waiting for fish. Fish that never seem to come. The day was quite sunny so he took refuge under a tree, another worthless day, huh Jigong? he thought to himself.

His brother was a fisherman, his father was a fisherman, and his father's father was a fisherman; he seemed to be one ONLY in name. He had been at it for years, nothing was gained. He couldn't provide for his wife, who left him in the night one evening taking his chidren and his sheep; how the hell did she get those sheep out of there without me noticing? he thought to himself.

He just sat and stared at the running water of the river Han and thought.

            And thought...

            And thought...

                Or even '300'

Mind you, I'm rather concerned about the depth of posting by some players. There is so much to read for so few rurns. Some players can't keep up with the reading let alone writing.

On the one hand the creative flair and talent of the leading posters must not be stifled.

On the other hand it creates an imbalance where the majority can't compete and this may reduce their attempts some what.

I'd rather see two threads (not for the continents) BUT:
                1) ONE FOR FANTASY ROLE PLAYING and
                2) ANOTHER FOR GAME BASED DIPLOMATIC NEGOTIATING.

A choice could be made by the poster about the relevant thread.

                • Emperor Lee sat in his dark room thinking of the betrayal that had happened. it hit him hard because of how close Jade was to him. "she could have killed me at any time if she wanted to," thought Lee. He heard a voice saying something. at first it was almost like a whisper but it seemed to grow bigger and bigger. " see what happens when you try to be good. everyone turns on you because they think your weak," said the voice. 'I'm not weak," yelled Lee. " you must show them all you are not weak. you must kill everyone in the palace they will all betray you," said the voice. Emperor Lee said to the voice," who are you. show yourself now!" the voice responded," you know who I am. I am your darker side Lord Zanza and I will be held back no more. your time has come and gone and now I will bring fire and death to the world once again." Emperor Lee yelled in pain to a minute, then silence. five minutes passed and Lee stood up laughing historically. Hahahahahahahahaha no longer will that weak Lee have control now I Lord Zanza am in complete control. he picked up a dagger that was laying on the table and walked to every single room in the palace stabling everyone in the neck so they could not scream then slowly sawed away the heads of all his victims. 200 innocent woman, children, and members of the imperial court were brutally murdered and there already dead bodies were all raped. morning came and the guards came in to find what had happened. they quickly ran to Emperor Lee's room were he was cut up a little but still alive. the guard asked what happened and Lee answered," it was one of the Oldonian assassin. he killed everyone and came to my room to kill me as well. I was able to fight him off but not before he cut me up with that dagger over there." the guard left and later that day Emperor Lee told the people "his" story of what happened. the people wanted revenge for what the Oldonians did so Lee promised to Kill all Oldonians and ordered that all cities except for Kyoto start training troops to fight the Oldonians. the people cheered and Lee walked away smiling.

                  • The Holy Roman Emperor, Charles II read the letter for the last time. He had struggled with it for weeks. Many senior officials had provided advice, but that often just created more confusion and uncertainty. Charles had prayed fervently to the Lord for wisdom and guidance in writing the correct message. In his heart he felt this was the right thing to say. He beckoned Joseph, who had the hot wax to seal the correspondence. With a nod it was done. Joseph hurried out of the room and delivered the letter into the hands of the waiting military courier. He left immediately.

To King Ozzy, Eater of Bats, and Supreme Leader of the Metalhead Civilization

It is with great humility that I write to you today. I understand that our nations are at war; a war started by the Holy Roman Empire by the capture of undefended workers. I must begin this correspondence by offering the Metalhead Nation sincere apologies for this action. It was not my wish that it occured, but it is my responsibility that it did.

I confess that the Empire has remained largely silent throughout this affair. I am also responsible for this, as I must admit that prayer and religious study occupy much of my time. We are a deeply religious people, and I feel this is where we may have much in common. It is clear that the early reports that you were simply a nation of ‘rockheads’ was very misleading, and factually wrong. We have heard many rumours of your civilization and its religious beliefs. It appears that you worship a god called Music, and that in fact wars have been fought over interpretation of this Music. I also understand that the late King Elvis is somewhat of a deity in your nation. I hear that many of your civilization still believe him to be alive. I am also comforted by this shrine to Elvis called Graceland. We too have such shrines honouring our holiest of holy.

It is for these reasons that I feel we may reach some understanding regarding the conflict that has arisen. Two nations, as deeply spiritual as ours, should be able to find a common basis for peace and mutual co-operation.

To start with, we will return the captured worker.

Secondly, we need to establish some form of compensation for the lost ‘working’ time.

And most importantly, we need to establish a border arrangement. This is the issue that created tension in the first place. Our military leaders felt that the positioning of your new settlement was quite aggressive, given the positions of our two civilizations. But with your nations obsession with rock, I for one, fully understand the placement of your expansion city.

That being said, I hope you understand if your ‘rock’ city ends up in close proximity to one or more Holy Roman cities.

Again, I am truly sorry for the conflict that has arisen and look forward to establishing positive relationships with your civilization. I understand that a certain hand symbol is meaningful here, and if it helps, you should know that I am doing such.

May the Good Lord and the Great Elvis bless you….

The Holy Roman Emperor, Charles II

                    • The fishermen thought they had hit a jackpot their net was heavy as they pulled it in. But to their amazment is was not fish but a man. A tall blonde warrior.

They freed him from the net and took him immediatly to Alacatraz. There news of his founding soon spread and armed men from the Palace arrived to arrest the man known as Hawke.

On their way to the palace though , their mission was attacked by the Black Coloured people. All were slain except Hawke himself and a goverment official. The official pretended to be dead and lay on the road till the Blackman stopped attacking.

It was while laying there that he saw Hawke welcome the Black men in strange dialect and shook there hands. They left together Hawke seemingly one with them.

The government official waited till all clear before heading north towards the palace, they had to be told of this event.

But before he had walked more than 10 miles. Three ninja appeared and slew him.

They turned to each other and laughed. No Oldonian would hear the truth of Hawke now.

The Ninja disappeared almost as quick as they arrived. On their backs was their emblem. The Dark High Flying Hawk.

                        • Charles II was very nervous as he awaited any response from the Metalheads. Whether this distraction led to the tragic fall, history will never know. Some say God had decided it was time for him to depart this earth - that new was too Holy and Pious to live here. Darker rumours included a 'gentle' push by a servant hired by disgruntled senior officals.

What is known is the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles II fell down a long flight of stone stairs, cracking his head severely, and dying immediately. May the Lord bless his soul.

With no children and no planned successor, the Empire faced an uncertain future.

Fortunately, Joseph Artinnis, the Emperor's most trusted advisor was both bright and bold. He contacted General Tristo to ensure Aachen remained stable.

He also called a meeting of senior state and religious leaders.

And most importantly, he had had the foresight to make a copy of the letter Charles had prepared to the Metalheads. His hand went to his breast pocket, assuring him that it was still safe.

But who would talk with the Metaheads, if they even responded .....

                          • These are the Chronicles of the Early Years of the First Happy Funglish Dominion.

Long before records began, music was only ever played live... but long before all that, the Funglish people were a miserable nomadic tribe, who wandered far from the homes of their ancestors. After many years of sorry wandering, they came to a large expanse of water, and yet they did not falter. It was quickly decided amongst the elders that this expanse should not stop the tribe and that continuing forward was logical. Almost half the population of the tribe drowned before they realised that perhaps some kind of water-craft or at least swimming lessons might be useful. Some of the tribesfolk had once lived near a river, and had regularly waded into the water to fish. Occasionally, the fish were not to be found in sufficient numbers near the shores, and so these 'fisher-men' used fallen trees to sit on, and paddle out further into the middle of the river. Using this experience, the fishermen were able to fell some trees and provide enough logs for the whole tribe to ride on. Unfortunately, the tribe’s entire supply of stone axes was depleted in the effort, and so the tribes warriors were forced to use wooden clubs until a new supply of stone could be found.

Upon reaching the land on the other side of the expanse, the Funglish elders ordered that the tribe should keep going even further. Many tribesfolk wondered why the elders were so driven and so seemingly desperate to leave the ancestral home of the Funglish. The only answer the elders ever gave was as follows:
"We travel at the request of the spirits. The Spirit of Communication and of the Law, the one known to the Elders as OzzyKP, requested that we find a place of our own to settle and grow. Through the graciousness of Pinchak, the Spirit of Creation, we have been granted a huge choice of where to live. We must continue on until we get a message from CyberShy, the Spirit of Time and Entropy, that the time is right to stop and settle down."

Thus, they wandered, searching for a home to settle, and for a signal from the Spirits. Eventually they reached the coast again. This time, however, there was no sign of any land on the other side of the water. Just as the first tribesmen were wading into the water, having not learned their lessons from the last water crossing, the chief Elder, a relatively young man named Alex McFungal (elected because he was such a 'fungi' to be with), screamed, ran around in circles, and climbed a tree shouting "The Bat! The Bat! The poor Bat!” Once the rest of the Elders had gathered their wits (or at least enough of their wits to make sure that McFungal wasn't about to fall out of the tree), they declared that the sign from CyberShy had been given, and gave orders for the collection of building materials with which to build some crude huts.

The first building to be completed was a simple surface mine, from which enough stones were extracted to build a small village. Once a town hall was in place, and the larger families had been housed, the mine was dismantled, and the smaller families spread out into the countryside, collecting as much food as they could carry and store. The few fishermen who had saved the tribe during the crossing of the expanse, carved out some leftover tree trunks and built sturdy canoes, with which they could fish and help feed the tribe. Over the following 2000 years, they and their descendants were so successful; they managed to feed the city in its continuing growth. The woodland hunters regularly bought back food and building materials with which to build new fishing boats, and new houses and other structures.

As the town grew, the Funglish people called for a name. They knew that the area they had chosen would not hold the Funglish people forever, and whilst calling every city they founded 'Funglia' would certainly be patriotic, it would soon get confusing. The Elders (those that McFungal had not dismissed or exiled) gathered and decided on the options of LonDonMonConHonTron, DingDingMcTringDing, Wotalodeatrollop, Laztpostincyberia, Leeds, Frank, and Tuesday. After much deliberation the populous rejected all but three, shortening them to London, LaztPost (after the Spirit of Mediation and Judgement, LzPrst), and Leeds. Soon after this decision was made, McFungal addressed the gathered crowd and declared that the town was to be forever called London, since the Spirits were to be respected but had no requirement of the people's worship. Also, he reasoned, what sane person would want to live in Leeds? And thus was the name of the capitol of the future Funglish Dominion first decided upon.

Once the crowd had disbanded, McFungal called together his personal bodyguard (selected from the best of the contingent of trained Warriors currently guarding the new city), and tasked them with collecting the dissenters from the crowd in order to, along with the exiled elders, send them out of the city as a workgroup to build some artificial paths for McFungal and his 'roadies' to survey the lands of the Dominion. During this time, the craftsmen who had been building boats for the fishermen, decided to build their biggest boat yet. Because they planned that it would be so big that it would have its own kitchen, they chose to name the new vessel a "Galley". The bravest men from the town were selected and the Galley set off exploring along the coast to the south. Around the same time, a troupe of hardy woodsmen were gathered and sent off to scout the land to determine the boundaries of the new Funglish Dominion.

Occasionally, a report would filter back across the land that the Galley crew or the Scout troupe had discovered some usable resources, or reached some boundary that could not yet be crossed. One worrying report was the sighting of dangerous animals, although these animals were eventually subdued and tamed. Another claimed that savage men were on the prowl, but they were across the water, and did not bother the Galley crew when they stopped for the night. Eventually the Scouts returned with news that they had travelled the length and breadth of the island, and had found many useful resources. They recommended that some of the undesirables and lazier citizens should be sent to build outposts to claim these resources. By not offering support to these people, they would be forced to work to feed themselves, thus making themselves useful. These Settlers would be lead by a member of McFungal's household, a man named York.

With the old Council of Elders now fully disbanded, and each of the now 7 Districts of London ruled by a member of the McFungal Family, and a new Outpost to the south, the Happy Funglish Dominion was set to expand and engage on the world stage.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long to post... I do have more to come, but I felt I should get this out now.
