    LOL

So much double posting going on here

    Ok, I'm an old b@rstard

We need to decide on the map before civ choices.

Earth map makes different choice to pre-made Terra map.

I agree on preferably having only one of each civ but if it's Earth we may need to gforce a few civs in Asia and Africa:

eg need the K'mer, China, Japan, India Mongols, Russia ALL to be taken.

And need the Native Indians as an addition in Africa I think or is Egypt and Zulu enough? Need to check the civ list... there may be others so I better stop crapping on off the top of my head...

                • Alright, the 26th is fine. Let me know what you decide to do, I already have an idea as to what Civ I want to be, I just need to see how to choose it.

As far as the map goes, I don't mind if we use a premade map, but I don't know if we should do Earth because, as deity pointed out, we normally play Earth with historic locations and that limits our options.

I don't think we should limit our options.

I've said I'll agree to play anonymously.

USA 12 am (EST), I agree to that.

Basically I am ready to go, and I have a good idea for my civ too. So let's fire it up.

I usually think of my time on poly as wasted.

                    Valid point though.

Ever since I choose the 26th my love life has improved substantialy.

I realy couldn’t take a game where Ethiopia starts in Japan seriously, but I do see your point. Perhaps there is some middle ground? I do think we have a bit of leeway with certain civs. I mean the Cets were nearly everywhere in Europe, you can place the Russians anywhere in the Eurasian steppes and you can even put Greeks anywhere around the Mediterranean since they had a lot of colonies there. With a bit of historical knowledge other settings become reasonable too, like the Germans could start in Scandinavia were the Germanic tribes originated, or you can put the Turks somewhere in central Asia.

Think about it, an interesting, realistic looking premade map.

                          • Yeah, I'm slightly leaning in favour of pre-made unevenly-resourced Terra map because of the civ choice restrictions.

                            • Also, if we use pre-made Terra and Cyber/ozzy gets the 10 or so civ choices I think it would be nice to place them in accordance with their traits.

Eg Portugal on the sea; Japan on an island; Mongols on the steppes etc

                              Agree?
