Ozzy the problem is we're getting 0 turns playing with 13 people when we'd probably get 100 a session if we just sliced and diced the troublemakers down to 11-12.

Continuing the way we are isn't possible. No ammount of community or "trying harder" will resolve it. The people who can't cut it will just have to get out of the way! The only reason this session was wasted is because for some reason people were unwilling to act on what we already knew from the last 3 sessions....

I don't think we need to go with Lz's plan. I agree with Frank. If we just learn from our mistakes we can improve the efficiency of our sessions.

I think that we shouldn't allow Deity or CyberShy to host anymore. First we go to CT, and if CT has trouble or isn't there, then we go to Moker. End of story.

If neither are around, then we find someone else. But not Deity & CS. They have been tried and failed many times.

How many sessions have we had 0 turns?

The other sessions were good. We still had connection problems then, but we got 50-70 turns in. That is an awesome, solid session. We've had one bad session out of 5. That's not enough to get discouraged over. This isn't hte end of the world people.

Ozzy, I'm not suggesting that the game be abandoned, just that the hard but obvious choices need to be made to ensure that the game proceeds, even if at times it isn't polite or advantagous to other players.

I think sometimes the hard choices aren't always as obvious as you claim. There have been many times when people have claimed player X was the source of all our problems, and if we just kicked that person out we'd be fine. Except several of us have been that player X.

Capo, Kuno, OmniTrout and many others would have gotten kicked out, and probably would have been frustrated and not returned. And I think we'd be much worse off if we hadn't stuck it out.

I am starting to agree howver that maybe we should find someone new for England, I'm still not 100% convinced yet, and I'm very sorry MMC, but maybe Frank is right. This time.

But usually there is always a rush to kick people out that I think is unnecessary and unhealthy for the game.

There's too many variables. A player who is a trouble maker with one host or set of players is just fine with another host or without certain players. My problem is when people insist the answer is to keep slamming restarts with old variables that always produced problems in the past.

Well thats the thing about the variables. The problems we have are so irrational at times, sometimes we'll have problems and we can do the exact same things and it'll work.

But I think if we just avoid Deity & Cyber as hosts, that'll help save us a lot of time when we do have trouble. It would be good to have a third host option after CT & Moker.

If MMC goes, I may go. My story is a scif-fi one, and so far he is the only sci-fi fan I know here. I won't waste my time trying to entertain people who don't like that kind of story.

CT, the problem is it seems like no one will be writing stories of any sort if he stays. We can all get jumpy and start making demands, but that's the #1 sure fire way to kill the game. You weren't around for today's spetacular failure of a session, but if this becomes a regular event anyone's preferences won't matter.

                        • What are you talking about? My internet connection dropped in my whole neighborhood 20 mins before game time. I don't owe anyone an apology. Toni, you should have some manners yourself and give people the benefit of the doubt from time to time.

                            • Maybe you should apologize to me for not trusting me at all. Did you ever think about that?

                              • Toni never said he didn't trust you. No one is accusing you of delibrately blowing off the session. However if you have to cancel plans with other people, it is polite to say sorry regardless of the reason.

If you had dinner plans with someone, and something important came up that prevented you from going. I would hope you'd call that person and apologize for not being able to keep your promised plans, and explain your situation.

MMC was very rude in the last week to not only not show up for the session, but also to not post here to apologize or explain what happened or even let us know he was still interested in playing. If you had dinner plans, and you accidentally slept through them, would you not call that person back for a week to explain? I hope not.

This may be the Internet, but we are all still real people here, and real world ettiquite still applies.
