OK, looks like this is the solution:
I'm on a tech that will take well over 50 turns to complete. I must gift it to CT as it's part of the deal and balances things up for him regarding Alphabet. I will not trade it to anyone else though; AND this is in addition to a previous tech that I won't trade either.
But we don't share Alpha around.
I can't be penalised 40 turns because that impacts on CT who still hasn't received his Alpha tech from me.
AND Frank can't be penalised cos I screwed up.
I think that is our best option.

I don't know. I didn't actually need it. I just couldn't trade him my version of alpha since it was traded for an not researched myself. I wanted to trade other techs with him, but couldn't until he got alpha. I'm pretty certain he researched it himself since I kept bugging him about him getting alpha and he said stuff like "just 8 more turns."
yes. the mighhty vikings got alphabet from Loke. The norse god of mischief. (basically we learned how to write obscene texts on toilet walls, but some hippie realized it could be used for other stuff as well)
Moker can make it this week and iis interested in taking over Rome permanently. If we don't hear from MMC again, perhaps Thrak can switch over to England.

Taro didn't have to peg anyone in the head with his rock to become king. Although he did have to beat up the runner up. Maybe Inca and the Arabs have more in common than we thought.
