Thanks all for the butt kicking... My land sucked, and then I had to put up with a steady stream of Pratorians from DD. While I did manage to kill all of them, it kept me very busy and on a constant war economy, and I fell only farther behind. Oh, and then the cannons showed up.

Fun game... I hope to be more competitive in the future.
I still have to get used to the changes in the latest patch.

Overpowered... in this case, I did kill them all
It was really no worse than any other huge stacks of units moving into your territory.

I don't consider them overpowered at all since they can be countered with axman. Like any other unit, if you use them properly, they can be effective. But it does have a limited window, and there are counters. And it does force the Romans to beeline to ironwork, and then pray there is iron near by. While they may gain some advantage with the praetorians, they are also losing ground in other areas. As with many things in the game, there are advantages and disadvantages to everything.

I had to settle for beating the crap out of the other 3 in an (incredibly well-played if I do say so myself) OCC, and coming second to an insanely powerful Provost Harrison in the first game.
