Also, I have downloaded 1.61 but I haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting for a consensus, but it doesn't seem there is one. Lacking one I suggest we just stay with 1.60 for this week and then switch to 1.61 for next week.

Also, I have some bad news. I bought a new hard drive and I'm running my system from that now. However, there seems to be some really weird stuff going on. Its acting very sluggish and my internet connection keeps spiking from less than what it should be to 1/10 of what it should be.

Hopefully it wont affect civ. as an attempt to fix it I will format my other harddrive that I used to run things from. maybe its causing some unnecessary stress.

If you have 1.60 installed make a copy of the game directory, and then uninstall CIV. Then reinstall vanilla CIV and apply 1.61 patch on it directly. If you want to play the previous version (be it 1.60 or 1.52) just run the appropiate exe. If you didn't have 1.52 in the first place, then apply first the 1.52 patch to vanilla CIV and then (after copying the resulting game directory) apply the 1.61 patch. Its simple...or is it?

Yeah, seriously, why change it to 1.61 when there was no reason to do it? Unless of course someone is getting paid for us to do this, and in that case I'd like to know who and why, but we'll leave that up to a mystery right now.

So let's go with 1.60 today, there is no reason not to especially considering what a success we had last time.

Wars of trying to eliminate others or permanently cripple them I think is (or should be) outright banned. The other two things I mentioned... hopefully it won't happen, and hopefully people will use their best judgement as to what will make a fun, long lasting game for everyone involved.

Yea I guess. Its just too much headache using codewords and stuff, hehe. Plus the patch will be out soon (ha ha, i know) so we'll all be done testing anyways and won't get in trouble, heh. Plus most outsiders shy away from unwieldy, multi-page threads, so hopefully we're just talking to ourselves.
