  • A little thought reveals the new colony system (with splitting civs) to be very elegant: if the colony expands and becomes big enough, it will go to war for independence, as it's just a vassal state.

          • I think you guys forgot this:

so the same unit will look different for different civs
            something that's cool
There is some different artwork for the same units, thanks to our fans
it's not for all civs or all units, but there is a noticeable difference

            • Korea could be considered SE Asia as well, unless Im mistaken.

EDIT: However I must agree with Solver. It must be a new civ, and taken into consideration the complete amount of Civilisations implemented after BtS, there is no doubt that civs like Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia deserves a place in the game, though I rather saw Infinite European Civspam

              • Just a thought, but since they [Firaxis] seem to be looking at civs that broke off of others (i.e. colonies feature), what SE Asian civs have a strong historical significance that were once part of one of the current included civs?

China, Japan, and Korea are East Asian.

                  • I have a historical question about the HRE. If anyone is following the new series The Tudors on Showtime, the current Holy Roman Emperor is the Spanish king. Which HRE is he emporor of?

                    • That HRE is the emperor of what usually is seen as the HRE; the loose German federation.

A couple of the Spanish kings in the 15-1600's were Hapsburgs through marriage, so they ruled Spain as well as Austria, the Netherlands and parts of Germany. That's why they were HRE's, but only through the connection to the Hapsburgs of Austria/Germany.

The Vietnamese originally started in today's China, but migrated south. At the same time, China and Vietnam have always disliked each other, so that may not be a good "colony" historically speaking.

India's religions have had a huge influence on SE Asia. Hinduism was huge in Khmer life (Cambodia), as well as Java, and Buddhism replaced it in Siam and Burma. Unfortunately, I've included all of the countries which could be a civ from SE Asia, so nothing's been narrowed down that way...

Was noticed here. Something I'd love to see.

Charles V (1500-1558) is the Hapsburg emperor on "the Tudors." His possessions included the HRE, Spain, large portions of Italy, the Netherlands, and American colonies.

He was basically Lord of Europe, and made lesser rulers like the Kings of England and France wet their pants in fear.

Incidentally, he was also a hidden leaderhead in Civ3.

                              Australia was part of England.
