  • Read the IGN preview, makes more sense now.

    One thing I don't understand:

Vultures get a 25% reduction against melee units: is that overall (6 to 4.5), or just a 25% reduction from the usual 50% bonus, for a 25% bonus (6 to 7.5)?

    • They mean that Vultures gain +25% vs. Melee. Their way of writing about coefficients is strange sometimes.

        • So, summary:

Dog Soldier: 8 vs. melee, 4 vs. archers and mounted
Vulture: 7.5 vs. melee, 6 vs. archers and mounted
Axeman: 7.5 vs. melee, 5 vs. archers and mounted

          Dog Soldiers got screwed.

            • The Protective trait + Totem Pole makes them the biggest pain in the butt to attack of all civs. Barracks + Totem Pole = 5 XP for Archery units. With Protective, that means they'll produce City Garrison III + Drill I archery units without even needing to run Theocracy or Vassalage.

Yeah, he made it all the way to 1970 if I remember correctly.
FDR didn't make it past 1945, Stalin bit it in the 50s, and Churchill croaked in the 60s.

That being said, Gilgamesh is the most modern leader. Two-thirds god and only one-third man, after all.
I'm betting he got back that flower of eternal life from that evil snake somehow.

I'm working on organizing a mod to put them in. And I mean hopefully a non-sucky mod.

                              Somewhat macabre choice methinks...

I like most new civs though, HRE excepted (well I WILL like seeing them appear but having HRE paralel to France and Germany will seem wierd). Having rome and byzantium would also be wierd but you could tell yourself Rome means the western empire (still wierd though as the game is supposed to be about civilizations but that line was crossed a long time ago)...
