So, you didn't think random event were okay in the old Civ1? I loved it.

I liked SMAC random events better; most of them featured if some random city didn't have a building : a penalty applied to it for X turns. If it did have the building : a bonus applied to it for X turns.

          # Enhanced AI: The AI has received many enhancements making it tougher to beat on the higher difficulty levels. The ways in which the AI will attempt to achieve victory have also been expanded.
Is this referring to Better AI or 'Enhanced Better AI' ? Blake has not release new one recently.

          Random events
But how would it impact the game?
I assume Natural Disaster it would be like a one turn of revolt + reduce a pop on a city?

So were Civ1's. If you didn't have a city wall, you got plundered, if you didn't have an aqueduct, you got a flood and so on.

This was a great mechanic, and I hope Firaxis does something similar here.

Nah, they're including a Short Circuit event. Condition: been playing BtS for 8 hours straight. Effect: short circuits your PC .

I'm here, I'm here. I didn't mean to make my public wait, but I've been really busy all day.

So here it is, the long awaited celebratory post...

                    BABYLON IS IN!

I'm posting a large image of my former avatar to celebrate.

(Well, that was kind of anticlimactic wasn't it. )

random events - Black Death anyone? (pure spec)
                            10 new civs
Babylon, Holland, Portugal, at least one native American civ - can't wait to see who else is there
corporations as new religions - love the concept, it's something I can see happening right now (control oil, aluminum - what else?)
Maoi statues - is that supposed to be Maori?
16 new leaders, including Abe Lincoln - wondered when he was going to show up
                            more options for spies
more modern units - I believe that may mean diversity within naval units; they do count as units in general.

                            I'm all giddy.

Nope, actually that's the Moai, the Easter Island statues. Fun.
