  • I'd really like to be able to upgrade your units from the millitary advisor.

I'd also like a Napoleon senario. It would be just against all of Europe. I would also like an American Colonization senario. Two wwII scenarios would be neat. One with Europe, North Africa, and Eastern US. The other one could be the entire world.

    • It seems to me that a good summary of everything different people have been saying they want is:

      More Leaders/Civs
      More Scenarios/Mod Options
      A Scenario Editor
      Better Trade
      Better Spies
      Better/More Modern Warfare Units
Return of great Civ2 features like Advisors and Throne Room

Maybe they could call the next expansion Civ4: Blow the World (Up!)

That is, if spies, and cruise missiles are what we all want.

Better trade is about the only thing there that I really want. More scenarios would be nice but it's entirely optional to me.

I notice the original post was just edited. I do think my idea for random traits and random uniques (post #120) deserves an inclusion - even if it's not as an alternative to more leaders and civs ( ) - since it would make for great challenge games. [/whining]

Yes. As much as I was amused by having Sid and Jeff as advisors in Civ3, Civ2's advisors really took the cake. Now there was a great game!!!

Maybe the next expansion should be called: Civilization IV: Civilization II.

                • Tentative suggestion: Reduce the power of Oracle slingshots by setting an upper limit on the number of beakers given by the Oracle, say 600 on Normal speed (CS costs 1288, MC costs 723).

The Civ3 manual actually states that one of the things you can do with the spy is poison water supply. But this feature is not present in Civ3 ....
Well the manual said lots of things..............

                      Yes, that's true enough.
Heck, I remember how Civ2's manual said it was possible to select your leader's portrait from the gallery of leaders. Right...

                      • Update: Modified leaders list at the beginning to focus on selections from the "Final Solution" thread. Also added "Knights Templar" as a potential wonder. Don't think it should get the same abilites as in Civ3, though. Maybe it could provide a defensive bonus for cities with your state religion (and make foreign cities with your faith easier to take)? Or it could have a more financial role...

                        • I think your list of leaders is all wrong personally, but I also think debating it is a waste of time, better to have the 'do we need more leaders?' debate rather than the 'should it be Brian Boru or Boudicca?' debate.

                              1. I am thinking of a leader transfer system, in which you start with some generic boaring leader, but at a certin year when a famous real life leader for that civilization comes up (like if you're America, in 1776 Washingtom comes up, and you can switch to him instead) and there would be new advantages and disadvantages. This would allow some sort of leader succession, but without making it happen constantly.
                              I second the motion

The more unhappiness the more likely of a rebellion. The city is shut down for some time, and you have a few options of what to do to take care of it, and maybe new ones open up and close with different civics. For instance, you could choose to kill all protesters but that adds unhappiness and you loose population, but the rebellion ceases immeadiatly. Or you could pay them to stop protesting, which costs gold and might not work, but if it does there's no more unhappiness penelty. There should be a few more options and an option to do nothing and see if it just dies out. But if it lasts for a certin amount of time then the city goes into complete anarchy in which all stationed units die, and the city is turned to ruins. Or if there are multipul cities all in rebellion nearby (even if from different nations) they could form a new nation (with the name "New Nation" or something like that, and a random personality leader)

Anotherther technology I think should be in there would be Artificial Intelligence (maybe requires Computers).
