Black terrain when y axis is >130. This occurs on the global view (zoom out) with clouds. This probably only affects people who want to mod with big maps (including me), but it is kinda annoying.

    • if this hasnt been mentioned before: i would like there to be a clearer distinction between sending messages to specific players and to all
ie. if someone sends a message to YOU specifically, you should see an icon or it should be bolded or somet hing

      • a quite important one:
[202] please distiguish city production between regular hammers (from tiles, GrE, GrP and buildings) and from one-time hammers such as overflow from previous builds. show it in the city screen as "24 + 45/turn" and same on the map-mouseover caption.

example: if a high-productive city builds loads of cheap stuff (such as missionaries) then it will look like the city produces 200 hammers, whereby it actually may only be 90... 110 + 90/turn can otherwise only be seen if you hold the mouse over the production bar in the city view screen. and there also you'll have to calculate what the per-turn-production is...

As an extention of the above:
[203] Make a clearer distinction between "commerce" and "gold".

Example: A city may have 15 commerce but 3 is maintenance but it gets +50% for a bank. So the "gold" generated is 20.

How about a global "Terriotory" overlay? It could just be an option that pops up when looking at the Cultural overlay. Click culture and see what we currently get, click "Borders" and see everyone's territory overlays, much like the minimap shows.

What's the difference? Do you mean "actual borders" as opposed to the "cultural influence" the culture overlaydisplys?

I think that would be very useful.

              • Yes, I mean actual borders.

and, proving that I love this thread:

[205] Remove the window that says "Name Screenshot" when you take a named screenshot (witih Shift-Print Screen). Or else redo that UI element so that you just get a blank window with a cursor near the top, below the research bar, so it looks like a proper title.

Not sure if it has already been covered.
If you select an enemy unit make it possible to see the odds if this unit attacks your unit (alt-mouseover)
Right now it's only possible to see the the odds of attacking a unit, not if you should run or stay and defend.

                  • I really like that idea. I'm always wondering how competent my defenders are going to be, but I'm too lazy to actually do the calculations myself.

Check out CFC Civ4 Graphic Modpacks threads.

There are a couple ways to replace the "commerce" or "gold" icons. They are distinct, and who knows why Firaxis let it slip (i.e., ship) with the icons being the same ... other than a changed release date.

                      Links:
                      There is New Commerce Icon
and also New Symbol for Gold
                      I personally prefer the latter.

                      • Thanks. The new symbol for Gold is awesome.

                        • Just quickly. Number 28 is already present, in the options menu, I believe it is the ``Minimise popups'' checkbox.

Aggressive computer-controlled civs gaining some small bonus for their civilization (how large depending on difficulty) to balance them up as they fall too far behind too often and are rarely or ever threats in the game.

Aggressive comp-controlled civs also get -2 on diplomacy when a demand is refused to have their demands own more weight.

If these changes doesn't fit into patch suggestions or if they are too flawed in any way it is okay to ignore them.

                            Cheers!

Absolutely. I am rather surprised that there isn't such an option.

There should actually be a few random map options:

                              Random Classic (continents, archipelago, pangaea)
Random SP (the above plus the other options in Play Now, including Terra, Highlands, etc.)
Random MP (any of the maps designed specifically for MP, like Balanced, Wheel, etc.)
                              Random All (self-explanatory)

                              • This has probably been mentioned before so I won't number it, but you definitely should not lose the diplomatic malus when you go to No State Religion, at the very least there be should be something negative in pre-Modern Eras. Perhaps it shouldn't be as weighty as having a different religion but there should be a -1 or -2 for having no religion if the opponent has a religion.
