hmm, even if you click on the tech tree? On another tech I mean. It may not be updating immediately.

    • I had all kinds of graphical glitches in the victory screens. At one point the background disappeared to be replaced by random-colored noise, and there was a huge slowdown on all of the animations. I hadn't been having any huge graphics problems up until that point, just the wonder movie problem.

      • Defensive Pact

As you can see in the attached screenshot, my defensive pact-mate Alexander cancels our defensive pact simultaneously with the Aztecs declaring war on me. Then, unfortunately post-screenshot, Alexander declares war on the Aztecs anyway.

I checked, and Alex indeed no longer has a defensive pact with me...

        • Hmm, I'm just all over the bugs today.

Actually, I have no clue if this is a bug. It seems like negative gold should be impossible, or at least THIS much negative gold ... but this is civ4, and who knows?

Nonetheless, I present you Asoka, the Poor House king.

          • I've bombarded a city with catapults. The text says the city is down to 0%, however if you look at the city it still says +20%

Hmm no, I think this is because they give +xxx science to a tech and not grant the tech. I noticed this when I highlighted the great engineer. It says +770 to some tech. I think we all expected that it not boosts but grants the advance.

One of the economy civics does allow deficit spending.

              • no idea if its been reported, and frankly, no time to look through

My bombers stopped being capable of bombing things, anything, after a certain ammount of time. Reloads didnt seem to help.

I'd be bombing a city for a few turns.

And then suddenly, i'd go through the same command process, and the bomber wouldnt budge.

Actually, that's normal. Once a city's defenses are down to 0%, you can no longer bomb that square.

I agree... and I find it annoying that I can't do any more damage than lower defenses to 0%.... but from what I could _tell_, it looked like it was deliberate. It's the same deal w/ any "siege" weapon, whether it be a bomber, catapult, cannon, etc. Bombarding things doesn't seem to hold the same weight as previous Civs.

Thanks! If I ever get a chance to play a second game I'll try and remember this.

Something else I noticed here: When the units in a city have been redueced to 50% of their original strength, you can NO LONGER bomb that square or city. I am sure this is not a bug, but a design intention. Just would be nice to have read about it somewhere.
