  • I only accepted to install DirectX (mine were already 9.0c, but anyway...) and reset PC after install and before running it.

Seeing as it posted and not everyone seems to know:
Click YES!!!! Accept the DirectX install!!! It contains files that are needed!!
It's a (small?) upgrade to DirectX9.0c, probably soon to be realeased by MS themselves.

Hey, hey... I'll be getting mine soon too . Though I'm not sure if it can run on my hunk of junk

what kind of a poor excuse of a lawyer are you anyway!! Bill some fake overtime dammit!!

I thought you had it Imran!!! Your input is needed!

        • Sure. Can you give me the basics of it? I just went on Gamespy and saw people talking about ladder games, but I suspect there is something more Poly specific? I checked the MP forum here and didn't see something jump at me, either.

Sorry for my ignorance. I haven't done MP TBS since SMAC.

          • You're going to play FP???
I really hope the expansion carries a spectator option for MP games like this!

Why, has Firaxis included an animation showing Yin eating his cardboard box?

                • So Yin... how many Civ4 players have to tape their eating of the game box, and mailing it to you? I've found the game has told me repeatily on the "I'm whacked out of my mind on cold medicine level" under tips: "To win, you should build more cities faster then the computer."

If the game is telling new players on training level that they need to build more cities then the computer, that states that ICS has been embraced by the designers, rather then fought.

That said, once all the game stopping bugs and highly inefficent memory and resource code is fixed, I think this is going to be a ver nice game.

Yeah, it's interesting some of the tips, particularly when adding cities would hurt your ability for research. I'm still testing this advice, frankly. As for ICS, I can't wait to hear what you and others discover. I will say this, though: I'll stand by the findings of my ICS committee.

LOL! That picture is hilarious. Truth be told, I want to believe in pink furry bunnies, too...and my Peter Pan outfit has just been at the cleaners for the past, oh, 10 years.

                              • I have civ4 and I'm ready to judge it.

I haven't tried ICS yet, still just enjoying my civ4 experiment
Not to mention that I need to know the game a little more to find out if I can use ICS the right way.

So far the game has proven to me that fast expansion may be dangerous because city defending has became much more important. I have had large empires already that got crushed early because the border-cities got conquered quiet easily.

In fact I need more knowledge on the battling system to prevent that. I play with one of those German dudes, that reduces the city tax by 50%. That civ may be the rigth civ to use ICS with for that reason.
