No, my starting armies. I don't have 100+, I have like 27 or something like that.

so- 9 less armies. Instead of 154, you have 145.
I killed all but 27 arimes on the field last turn. He build around 11.

okay, Spaced started with 673 gold, 27 armies, and 15 cities.
His caravan income was +1690= total 2363.
Researched techs 11&12 for (297+576) 873, 2363-873=1490.
According to the map, he built 19 cities, starting at #16, for 1425, 1490-1425=65.
that would allow for 5 (5*12=60)armies, leaving Spaced with 5 gold.
So after phase 3 Spaced has tech 12, 34 cities, and 32 armies.
So if jonny sent 94 armies the new calc is:
((94/12)-(32/34))*(10/12), round down.
7.83-.94~ 6.89*.83=5.72, or 5 cities captured.
Jonny loses 32/10= 3 armies, to 91 (and then loses the rest to loss of income, 2 or 5 armies left probably doesn't matter).
Spaced loses 5 armies, and is down to 27 again, and 29 cities.
Next turn he'd have:
5+370 from caravans-27=348, 29*10*12=3480+348=3828.

close Theben, but even you started with a big mistake in that I had 15 cities to start when in fact it was determined that there was an error on that and i only had 14, hence here were my orders.
Code:Gold currently in treasury: 673 GP Trade Send 5 Caravans to Thizbean Profit = 2*5*(10*11(Revenue)-[10+11(Cost)] = 890 Send 5 Caravans to Sparrow Profit = 2*5*(10*10(Revenue)-[10+10(Cost)] = 800 Gold available after trading: 2363 GP Production Research Tech 11 - 118 Tech 12 - 576 Research subtotal: 694 Gold left: 1669 Build as many cities as my remaining gold will allow. City 15 = 45 City 16 = 48 City 17 = 51 City 18 = 54 City 19 = 57 City 20 = 60 City 21 = 63 City 22 = 66 City 23 = 69 City 24 = 72 City 25 = 75 City 26 = 78 City 27 = 81 City 28 = 84 City 29 = 87 City 30 = 90 City 31 = 93 City 32 = 96 City 33 = 99 City 34 = 102 City 35 = 105 Subtotal city build 1575 Gold left: 94 Build 7 more armies = 84 gold Total build costs: 2353 Gold left after build 10
((94/12)-(34/35))*(10/12), round down.
5.71825396825397, or 5 cities captured.
So I lose 5 cities and and 5 armies still, and have 30 cities and 29 armies remaining.
(Not even going to try to calc Jonny's losses, but me thinks his army is gone, unless he had some gold left over).
So next turn I should have
10+(370 from caravans)-29=351
City income is 2*5*12*30=3600
So total gold is 3951
So if we are all okay with this, I will proceed with this in mind. We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Except that tech 11 cost 297, not 118; I was the only person to discover tech 11 and the cost 356*.8333=297.
So you couldn't build city 35. After #34 you'd have 199 gold left-179, or 20, which would allow for 1 army.
Not going to bother with recalc combat, it's probably the same.
So you'd have 29 cities again, +8 gold, and only 23 armies left over, and 3835 gold next turn.

Right, I got the tech costs from post #175, looks like it was challenged later on.
Which makes me think that editting the original turn post would be a better solution to correct errors.
But I'm good with your maths.

Yes, it is horrendous to GM...If only that program I wrote (co-wrote) could work better. Part of the problem is that I dictated the rules to someone else to write the first half around 2005 when we first ran this... and since then some rules were revised and some of the old rules were bad... and led to confusion on the part of the programmer.
Then, when I went back in and started revising the game in 2008, I didn't catch all the "rewrites" that the program is doing- and created a bunch of bad code. As soon as I fix one thing, it creates an error elsewhere... which is highly frustrating.
I'd like to think I finally have trade fixed. the technology cost screwup is a mystery. NASCAR will be another pain- and silk road is a nightmare. Tower of babel works fine and most of hte other wonders are okay.
War partially works, but two-way wars have to be done by hand currently. And when people "resend" orders, everything gets really screwed up.
---
Should I update the charts with your numbers?
I'd like to think that I'm on the right road debugging the program I have. I rewrote trade from the ground up. Taxes might be a bit screwed up, but if we finish this game in the next 2-3 turns- I'll do some massive debugging and try to make it so that a new game round (in a few weeks) will run smoother step by step as people advance in the game...since we might finally have some clearly written rules
I really have high hopes and feel very sad that there were so many mistakes this round- I love this game and feel like I'm letting you guys down a bit. Please realize that I check and recheck and recheck time and time again but still things don't quite work...-->Visit CGN!

Do you still have the spreadsheet I sent you a long time ago? I used it when I GM'd and didn't have many problems (though I agree it can be a nightmare to GM). Could be useful to double check, though I haven't updated it for the rule changes, so that could add an extra wrinkle. Just a thought.

Ah yes, I calc by head and hand also, although at times I've had an adding machine available.I'm consitently stupid- Japher
