Rather than dropping the 360 price stateside prior to GTAIV, as I had hoped, Best Buy is offering a pretty awesome deal, imho, of "Any 360, GTAIV, get $50 gift card" -So: Arcade-280 +GTA 60=340 + a giftcard. Or 350+tax nets you gta and another full priced game. Pretty sweet.

MS posts another profit in the Xbox division.

"Entertainment and Devices revenue for the quarter grew 68% over the comparable period last year driven by robust demand for Xbox 360 consoles. Cumulative console sales surpassed 19 million during the quarter, up 74% from a year ago. Server and Tools revenue growth of 18% added to its string of consecutive double-digit revenue growth quarters, which now stands at 23."

Even if you drop the Wii # by what, .7 or so, assuming the above probably includes Wii Play, the Wii ratio is fairly impressive. even with the PS3, and while beaten by the 360 SW monster, still pretty good. Apparently beat Nintendos expectations.

BTW, POTM tells me she has played "Brawl" and that its fun, but not worth $50 even if we had a Wii.

The numbers look even worse for the Wii if you take into account software revenue...Wii games are consistently cheaper. Some of the top selling ones like RE4 are even half price.

Well if we're looking at attach rates to determine prospects for 3rd party developers, thats very relevant. Though so are many other factors, like amount of competition on a given platform in a given genre.

If we're just examining the general nature of the Wii as a device for "gamers" with "games" thats something else.

I agree with POTM, but then again I don't have the attention span for games like Brawl unless I've got a bunch of friends over.

Brawl is the Britney Spears of gaming.
