Anyone else have GT5 Prologue?
You and I are the only ones here with a PS3...
That's how dominant it is.
And no, we don't live in Asia so no, we don't have GT5 Prologue.

Who else thinks the price for console games is just a bit too high? Here it costs about $60 per game; you take a high risk that the game will suck. If I watch a movie, its cheap, only $10, it may suck it may not, but I don't feel like I lost anything. $60 is just way too high a risk, especially considering all the games that suck nowadays.
I'd actually wager that I'm more likely to "waste" 50 bucks on a pc game than a console game these days due to demos, or lack thereof.
I can't tell you how many 360 demos I've downloaded and decided that they sucked, games that I might have purchased.
Plus, its really easy to rent games here, if you've read that they are short (ie 5 hrs), or terrible,or if you just want to be an achievement whore like Asher. .
I do have some utterly terrible games, but I will spend 10$ on a marginal item just in case it pays out.

Most of the games I have lots of achievement points aren't exactly short...
I've only rented one game ever for the 360 (Dynasty Warriors, for the SO)

In Asher's defence he isn't really an achievement whore - if you look at his gamercard you can see he scores poorly on most games.
But he owns a lot of games, and a lot of games leads to a lot of points.
He bores out of most games before he gets very strong at them.

Everyone knows me (although not in the Biblical sense).
GT5 Prologue has been released in the EU, Australia and New Zealand. I got mine from the New Zealand PS Store (since I don't have a foreign credit card. My Xbox Live account is also a New Zealand account). Not everyone on Poly is from North America.
It's very good IMHO, but the online component needs some work (the matchmaking is fast and flawless, but players with poor connections often cause cars to flicker on screen).
As for Blu Ray, I picked up the BR version of "A Clockwork Orange" a couple of weeks ago. It's given me a new appreciation of the film. The previous transfers (including the one on my Kubrick DVD box set) were very poor.
Now I have to find a way of buying "Eyes Wide Shut" without the missus thinking that I'd be buying it just to see the naked chicks in HD (which would be somewhat true).
