I'm only a couple missions in, but so far it seems alright. I kinda feel like spider man, with the jumping from building to building. The driving kinda sucks(or maybe my driving skill is just to low?), combat is decent, I try not to use auto-aim that seems to make it too easy. It kinda sucks that you can't co-op on the same 360 you have to system link two of them to co-op or over live .

Other issues gleaned from PR:
Xbox Live members eclipse 10 million
Xbox 360 game's attach rate (not including bundled games) reaches an unreal 7:1"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

So... Wii games seem to be doing better than PS3 games. Spikey?

I got crackdown the other day. Really like it, one of the more enjoyable 360 games for me. probably about 1/3rd through (taken out 1 gang). GTA IV has its work cut out for it.
That reminds me. I should rent it again and finish the game.

I'm wondering where Agathon is.
It's been like 8 months since he made his PS3 predictions and the 360 has only widened its lead since."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I live next door to the largest Best Buy in Texas, and am in there all the time and know a few of the employees. Very rich part of Houston, #6 bb in revenue nationwide. Anecdotes ahoy.
360 premiums/elite were sold out entire month of Dec, arcades and halo box, didn't move much at all.
ps3 didn't move at all, no restocking necessary. software sold horribly.
wiis sold out immediately, as did ds
galaxy, mario and sonic and both 360 and wii guitar heroes were horribly undersupplied. Virtual sell outs. same with mario party ds.
I think I heard that Nintendo presses all of the dvds for the console, so they really ****ed up not only hardware but software wise. And I would bet that's why Smash was delayed a month-too much demand for software spread across the three regions.

Eh, all 3 have done things really poorly for gamers this gen, a debacle from a gamer's perspective, all around.
1. 360 fantastic software, horrible horrible hardware. 1bn write off? sure. No wifi built in? How many skus? 3?4?5? within the first 2 years. Oh and one sku doesn't have a harddrive, so MS won't require devs to install to the harddrive-enjoy the loadtimes. You don't need hdmi in that premium....ok now after 15 months, we'll put it in the elite, and then we'll add it all premiums...pay for the online-whoops no live for x-mas 07 time. thanks for your money here's a free copy of joust.
2. PS3 600$ no software. Split skus. Backwards compatible through hardware....i mean through software....I mean, uh nope. Rumble is last gen, this gen is motion sensing...oh now that our lawsuit is settled, rumble is back baby, back, but if you want it, you have to have it delivered via carrier pigeon from Japan for the first six months.
3. Wii- can't find one in stores. Last gen graphics, waggle poorly implemented in 75% of the games. Loads of shovelware and quickie ps2/psp ports. No demo channel or DS channel (unless you're in Japan). Extremely limited internal storage space. Online is in progress...

In the end, this is how I view it:
Wii: Nowhere to go but down. Aging hardware and gimmicky control scheme will wear off. People point at games like RE4 and Red Steel as examples of how the Wii can succeed. But when you look at subsequent games (eg, Umbrella Chronicles), people aren't buying it. The idea of playing games like that sound better than the actual experience of it on the Wii. And once you've played one shooting game on the Wii, you've played them all. The hardware is a massive limitation.
360: Still on the rise. Outstanding software/hardware sales (look at the revenue difference vs the Wii, it's staggering). Has more growth potential than the Wii both technically and socially with games such as SceneIt doing better than expected. Improved reliability and sure to be a price cut soon that'll move a lot more units in Spring now that they're good with the 65nm consoles.
PS3: Time to hit the panic button. Games are selling brutally bad. Hardware units are well behind everyone else, STILL. New SKUs, radical pricecuts, and still no traction. Even though they still sold almost 800,000 units in December, people clearly aren't buying the PS3 for gaming in many (most?) cases. UT3 sold what, 100,000 copies in its first exclusive month in DECEMBER? That's just PATHETIC. Uncharted, R&C, etc all sell terribly consistently also. And those are big exclusives. Already at the bottom, isn't getting any better from what I can tell."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

The point that was being made in the other thread (which I think you are referring to) was rather than given the impressive hardware sales (which continue) the Wii games aren't selling as much as you would think.
Asher suggests the attach rate is 7:1 for the 360 now. If true (he sometimes twists things a little bit ) that is impressive. I don't know the current Wii attach rate but last time someone posted any data it was much lower.Last edited by DrSpike; January 18, 2008, 07:31.
