We were still in shock from these recent dreadful events as we set out to travel to our next venue. ‘Ulster, New York ’ Eventually we arrived, pitched camp and erected the Big Top using the hydraulic press.
I called everyone together. With William gone we needed to decide who would do the animal acts. ‘Felix you work with the piglets and Trixie the dog’. What do you think?
So Felix took on the lions share. Gypsy said she could work the horses and Grock said he would train up the last of the elephants.
Alfredo and Charles fed the animals and Ajax and Xia cleaned up the usual manure piles.
Grock took his new job enthusiastically and he hauled out the big computer. ‘What were you trying to say. It doesn’t have to be proper English. Speak to me’ he said to the elephants.
‘Pidgglett eeggbbesgb’ was the reply. Grock scratched his head.
Meanwhile Felix went to visit Gypsy Rose to have his fortune told. ‘Spread them’ he said. ‘ I presume you mean the 3 card spread’ she replied with a twinkle in her eye.
The first card out was The Star, the second was the Knave of Cups and the third Death.
‘eh maybe we should just have a quick intimate moment or two to explain’ she stated. Felix didn’t argue.
Though Mr Kite was no longer with us, the band still began at ten to six out of respect. There was a very good audience: a ship load of sailors, some waving small flags at the back and a whole bunch of tree fellers some of whom were drinking hard cider.
The band led off with MacNamara’s Band for the clown’s entrance, followed by Gypsy Rose with the horses. Great applause.
Grock came out with the elephants. He did as best he could. The elephants typed out GBBEGGEBB.
We got through to the interval and the sideshow tents, Ajax and Gypsy and Grock did great business. I asked Ajax if he had all his swords and he said ‘More or less, I have the first and second set but now the third set is missing.’ I was worried.
In the second half, Charles wowed the audience with a mystical tightrope display. He stood on the bear bins and rolled across the tightrope.
After that Jules and Alfredo stunned the audience with an amazing display of Trapese art.
Overall it was a good show and the troupe went home happy with the aforementioned hard cider.
‘We made a good profit and seemed to have survived’ I said to the team. But I was premature.
Later with the punters gone home, I started to get the gang ready for the next journey.
‘By the way, where’s Felix’ I asked. We looked at each other and dreaded the worst.
Later we found my good friend Felix lying on what looked like a funeral pyre. Felix and the swords were together, a sword pierced each hand and foot and one in the head. There was a small stain on his costume. I decided to take custody of all Ajax’s swords. Another star performer was dead.
The gang knew what to do before we left.

As far as I can see, and I've been reading up on this:
Star, Page/Knave of cups and death is quite accurate a prediction.
Basically great hopes, the young man in search of a young woman and family meeting death after his hopes are fulfilled.
The trouble is that it doesn't offer us any hints to the killer.
Whatever the clues, it isn't in the tarot card draw.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
