With the shocking death of Kitty Sheridan, one of the gentlest people around, the whole yachting club was locked down tight by the police in order to prevent the killer from Escaping. I couldn't believe my eyes that someone would ever want to spoil our fun at the party, and even less that someone would harbour a grudge against Kitty Sheridan.

The only evidence seemed to be the glass which had the arsenic. Now thankfully the police have cleared me because it seemed silly for a poisoner to serve the glass that she has poisoned. Much more likely that the glass was planted by the killer and that I inadvertently picked it up. I wish I could take that glass back but nothing more can be done for poor Kitty.

I was speaking with Sam about her watercolours, since she never said exactly what she enjoyed painting. Sam told me that she loved all kinds of things, but her pride and joy was this painting of Table mountain in South Africa. I thought it was an odd choice for a quiet Southern Lady, but he said, Cape Town is really a place out of time. With some of the largest observatories, it was one of the most beautiful spots in the former British Empire.

I have to suspect that it is more then the beauty that was encouraging Kitty to paint but what else could it possibly be?

Anyways, the deliberations snapped me out of the thread. The yachting club seemed very unsure of who was the killer, leaving it for our lovely dancing lady to die. Now whether the vote was out of spite I cannot say, but there are plenty more suspects I would accuse before I would accuse Stella Rivera of being mafia. Our boat will be much less lively then before.

In the end the others prevailed, tossing her off the boat to drown. I can only wonder how many more will die before we find the truth.

After the rather shoddy and cursory investigation it came as no surprise when another was found dead on the boat. This time it was Sam Sheridan who perished. Just like the previous encounter, another phone call rang for Sam and no one questioned it's nature until I heard his bluster over the phone and through the door in the drawing room. Sam was furious and came out bellowing that the no good filthy lowlife who had killed his wife was threatening to blackmail him and ruin her reputation. I cannot believe anyone would attempt to attack such a sweet lady as her.

As he settled down, the party finally started again with the music and the dancing though much more sombre and subdued. Sam sat in his chair while at least one of us always was by his side. I tried to talk to some of the other couples, and see what they had to say about the recent events. Most of them just kept quiet as if trying to forget.

The only one who seemed to want to talk was Baramunde. He mentioned one of his older jobs before he was a waiter here was to work on a cruise line. He said the best part of his job were all the ladies who were there for a vacation. The only cares they seemed to have were to enjoy themselves.

Sam then walked outside to the deck asking for some time alone in his troubles. We all went back to the party trying to drown our sorrows. After an hour Dave asked me if I had seen Sam around, and we realised he had been out on the deck for at least an hour. When Dave and I went out we found Sam lying on the deck dead with a very large bruise on his head. He had been struck with a fishing lead, a very heavy weight used to regulate the depth of the fishing line. Sam Sheridan was the second kill of our party and surely not the last.

When we went back in there were two couples that had left, the Hawkins and the Englands. Both of them had went to go for a stroll on the deck.
