No standing in front of the castle trying to figure out how to get in....Oh well, tis morning and I'm at work now, I think that Kassi gave the hint that I needed.

Oh and to see how to do anything another poster does, just quote him and you'll see how to do the tags properly. I did not know how to do the spoiler tags either til I just quoted Kassi (and looked).

    Spoiler:

Thanks Kassi, I went into the chapel basement to sleep and there was a locked door, I'm assuming that is the door to the the tunnel which you refer. Never thought about going back in there to find a way. Thought it had to be a underwater/secrect stone thing.

      Go straight. Click on door.

(or is this before the 'Iron Gate' is opened?)

Having loads of fun. Just fought with several necromancers holed up in an old fort. Given how they're mainly casters and rely on summons, and given that I'm a mage, it was a lot of fun. Particularly when I was standing at one end of the hallway, 2 necromancers and 2 summons on another, and we were blasting fire spells back and forth, that was an inferno.

                Cowboy:

                Spoiler:

At some point you have to follow a guard that has the key to the gatehouse. He has a key you need if he dies so be sure to loot his body if the Deadra overtake him.

how do you manipulate objects. I have no idea. I noticed somethings move when I pick them up. And I'm always accidently kicking things on the floor (scaring the hell out of myself because of the noise)

The grab key, Z by default. You have to hold the grab key down while you move the object. It isn't very precise either. You don't want to grab items that don't belong to you (even if you knocked them around) its viewed as stealing.

                    • Okay, hypothetical question.

                      I'm in a town and I kill a villager.

Do the town's folk and guards know what I've done if no one sees me?

                      • They're not supposed to, but this seems to work in a weird way. If you don't kill fast enough, there's the chance that the guards will know despite your crime having no witnesses.

And there's already a mod out there that fixes it, and makes crime how it was supposed to be - guards find out about crimes if they see them or if someone reports them / guards hear screams for help, instead of the current random occurences of guards having psychic abilities.

                          • The guards are a little too uber as well. Why send your pathetic arse out to save the world, just get a handfull of these friggin' city guards into the gate and it would be all over in a heartbeat.

Definitely true. I had to kill a couple of guys for a quest at one point, and managed to get them into an area with NO other folks.

I attacked them, killed them, and ... a guard found me and asked for 40gp fine. I presume for the "assault" and not the murder (unless murder comes cheap now ... )
