And with that my respect level for you increases ten-fold
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier
This is actually a good picture where the woman has a breast of nice size (read not too big) and her body is also not transmutated into some uber 90-60-90 pattern.
The problem arises is when, in the battle, all you see is 2 round pieces of boob or the other 2 round pieces attached to the bottom(backside) of the female character you're fighting..
I'd say the pic posted by Barinthus is quite elegant..
And on the realism topic - boobs and other uber features (like uber muscles) are ok as long as the body looks feasibly proportional and as long as 'plate armor' does not mean that metal covers only the parts of body which uncovered would make it p0rnographic..

What?
As I said, I don't understand why so many people have no problems with extreme, graphical, violence yet the same people will go up in arms if a woman shows a bit of skin.
Strange.

Actually that's what I like about Guild Wars - women in there tend do not have huge mammary glands although some armor style do leave them mostly naked.

Well, these games feature violence very prominently. I've nothing against porn. But video games aren't porn, and when I buy one that's not what I'm looking for. I quite agree that the classification of porn as somehow being more "worse" than simulated violence is unjustified. In fact I would much rather it being the other way around. For a game to be good, though, it has to maintain realism. Unless it actually fits in the context of the game, I don't like it. It seems forced and condescending. I'm not complaining about nudity in games per se, understand, but rather the depiction of women in these games. I refer once again to NWN, where one characters armor actually had nipple parts. It's ridiculous. You wanna show her boobs? Fine. Good. Sure. Do it in the context of the game. But don't piss on the fantasy genre by adding in these ridiculous things that supposedly add to the game's non-existent "sex appeal".

why not have nipple parts on the armour? Maybe she crafted it herself.
NWN is one of the better games. At least they didn't have platemail bikini armour. Yeah they prominantly featured Aribeth, but I see no major problem with that.
UR:
Violence is pretty realistic all by itself and fits into the games (genre), it adds to realism to a certain degree.
Nudity and unproportional bodies only takes it away.

and really. How common is violence? Games like Max Payne. Give me a break. That wasn't supposed to be believable was it?
Am I not speaking english?
IRL people can't get nude and still sufficently have level N (read uber) armor against that or other attack.
See 'female plate armor' screenie in this same thread.
IRL people can get really violent (do I really need to give examples?), in a game which is all(or mostly) about fighting, killing etc, violence does not take away from realism, if it does it's impact on realism is still levels of magnitude lower than that of a 90% nude chick with D or E level boobs running around hitting monsters there and there and succesfully withstanding blows (which are supposed to be stopped by full plate, or whatnot, armor) all the while.
If I want a game of fighting and killing (most games are) I am likely to get violence and I am ready for the fact.
If I want a game about nudity, sex, p0rn etc, I am likely to get uberinflated boobs and I am ready for the fact.
I am ready for the fact that most companies mix violence and nudity in both of the named types of game, but when it becomes a routine and I can not distinguish if that game is about fighting or about sex, thank you.
I understand life is more about both, but how much of us gamers seek to have real life in games?
People usually aim for one or a few aspects of real life (or the ones RL lack) in games, not for all.

Realistic characters in RPG games? You guys crack me up.
Com'on, I can't think of any computer RPG games that can be classified as "nitty gritty." They are all high fantasy. You eventually have characters fighting dragons, demons, etc. This ain't realistic by any stretch of the imagination. You are talking about heroes and superheroes here. I mean, the warrior's fists are bigger than your head.
So what if the women have large knockers?
like I pointed out in my reply... it is ridiculous
it just isn't credible. warriors with fists bigger than your head are plain stupid
