Why is my second character deep in the Thirst? Was I going somewhere in particular and how do I get there?

Which trading post? I've avoided the Thirst because it annoys me that you have to change all your armour just to stay alive in it.

Well there's one at the start with a couple of nice items, and one right at the end with lots of nice items.

How do I get to the place? You know that place. I think they were formians or something, some sort of bug thing. Are they near the Heat Miser place? And where is the HeatMiser place?
Is there a new map of the sort that Jamski (I think) gave me? It was sort of flow chart-ish and perfect for my needs.Comment

No, one of the characters is working on mapping the entire place, but it seems like it'll be a while before anything turns up. The place with the ant bug (which still hasn't been fixed) is at the bottom of the fire beetle mine just off Tanglewood Nook (or whatever it's called). You go down the rope at the far side of the fire beetle mine, and find yourself in a cave with a door. A quick member of your party goes out, lures a couple of ants to attack him, and then legs it back to the cave where a quick-witted party member closes the door behind him. Since the ants aren't smart or dextrous enough to open the door, then the entire party lets fly with missile weapons/spells and kills high-level creatures for decent xp and very little danger (except to the troll, that is.
). 
Right at the end of the Thirst? Which direction? I've only been to the second area (north) and then west (upwards) to the caves full of sand people to kill them.Comment

And IIRC the heat miser place is on top of the mountains in the starting continent, a long long way from the desert. There is a chest there that drops random stuff from all items in NWN, and some phat lewt drops there.

I have absolutely no recollection of the heat miser's location, I just know my main character has his rod, so I've been there before...Comment

That wasn't the problem, getting randomly put back into areas I didn't want to retravel was the problem. Dying repeatedly to monsters with mediocre xp awards was also unfun.Comment

CW, you're not the guy who's been endlessly trawling through the Bull Run in the hope of finding a belt of some kind of resistance, but doesn't seem to know what it is?

I used to run laps in Bull Run for exp and treasure. Never looked for any specific sort of belt though.Comment
