I'm still having doubts about my choice - I'l have to wait untill I can see the map first hand before making a final decision, i guess.

But the link Smiley provided isn't working for me. Can you upload it here?

In this case, unzip the region to My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions/Taipei.

In the more general case... usually, when you download a custom region, it's a big .jpg and a config.bmp (the latter of which dictates the boundaries. Create a blank folder under Regions, copy the .jpg and config.bmp into that directory, then load up SC4, enter the region, and hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R. Then go to the .jpg and double-click it.

              I think I'll take 10 or 2.

Is Atragon playing? Has he picked yet?

As for terraforming: I don't care. I won't be doing it personally on either lot.

I'll assemble a plugins folder for us all to use, just to ensure that they're the same.

Other than the NAM... does anyone have any suggestions for other mods/buildings/whatever to add?

EDIT: The other issue to be discussed is what parts of the NAM to use, as it has several options (as those who have used it before know). Personally, I use:
Automata (controls traffic displayed) - Standard
Pathfinding - Better, 5xcapacity, 10xcommutetime (I find these settings more realistic, IMHO)
ANT (Additional Network Tool) - No
Custom Highway Menus (simply a menu design issue) - Yes
                    Stack Interchange addon - Yes
Any comments as far as these go?

One I really have to suggest is this: http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/inde...l&Str=smoncrie

I've seen some city concepts that made really good use of this tool.

Would the Transit Supermod that someone else suggested be a good idea?

IIRC, the Transit Supermod is included in the NAM. (Or the Automata and Pathfinding bits of it are, and since those are the two most significant parts of it...)

After reading the README file for the NAM, it becomes obvious that it is.

I've used them quite a bit myself... I'll throw them in there.

OK, I'm taking Lot # 21. This makes eight, with everyone having at least two neighbors.

Jonny's plugin suggestions sound good (the traffic settings change should encourage more intercity travel), so let's begin!

To ensure we're using the same things, please use the following plugins folder:

Backup your current plugins folder. Unzip this one and copy it over the current plugins folder. Note that you have two plugin folders, one in the Program Files/Maxis/SimCity 4 folder (or wherever you installed the game), and one in [your name]/My Documents/SimCity 4 folder... make sure both are empty of any transit-related mods before inserting the new folder, or there could be conflicts.

IMPORTANT: If in your version of the game, cars drive on the left side of the road (either because of where you live or bought the game, or because you changed it manually), you must add the following zipped file (attached below) to this new plugins folder as well. But only if you have left-hand driving, otherwise you do not need it.
