Damn EPW, you have some massive commercial infrastructure there. You have a subway going, right? How much did it cost to get the basics setup?

I think I spent well over $100,000 on it. I can't give you exact number because I built section by section. It's quite expensive.

I haven't played since SC2000. Is it still basically the same game, but with a few (or a lot) of things added?

Prosperity and the Rail Transit Five Year Plan
East Central 2030

For these five years, East Central grew neither up nor out, rather better, faster, and stronger.

With the excellent public education and healthcare system, many of our low income residents have been moving up to the middle class. Offices for state owned enterprises are rising rapidly on the main road.

Middle class development has also taken off in the satellite cities, clogging the rail system. Extra stations have been built, in some cases across from each other. Nontheless capacity is packed.

Downtown where real estate is scarce, the most popular bus lines have been replaced by subways. A connection has been made to Blountberg.

With the new infrastructure in place, commute times have been halved to just over half an hour. Transit revenue is bringing $1,000 a month after expenses and the commuter shuttles.

There is still the critical lack of jobs within city limits, however. Currently many of East Central's residents ride the rails out to jobs in either the Blount Works or the Bubble Mall.

The next Five Year Plan shall address this issue by introducing more commercial development on remaining downtown agricultural and industrial land.

Regional Planning
West side rail infrastructure remains poorly developed. Currently, trips to Epwood require transferring from rail to highway bus in Y City, and then finding subway entrances after being dropped off on the edge of the freeway in bus-unfriendly Epwood.

East Central Railroad planners recommend a rail extension through Y City. Alternatively, the elevated line into Bubble Junction could be extended west.

Fray Bentos '30

Nothing much changed this turn, built a second Solar Plant and solved the high-density residential problem by plowing it down for high-density offices.

Next turn will be to expand the new $$$ commercial and possibly build a small airport if i can handle the running costs.

Yeh, it's basically the same with all the right improvements if you include the expansion (except difficulty maybe).
The new traffic/mass transit options are the best, but unfortunately (IMO) you need player-made mods to get it balanced. But it's a good thing in itself that these player-made mods are at all possible in the first place.
