yes the expansions do look very tough, i've watched my gf play them - she's still miles ahead of me in the whole game, and i've yet to finish the main games story or venture into the expansion area's. Looking forward to it though

Cool!
Then she can be the backseat driver while you muddle your way through sections she finished months ago.
I may have another dip into the murky waters of Morrowind this evening, but I've got NWN to play too!

Well she more likely just gives me grief to get of the xbox so she can play Harvest moon or Animal Crossing on the game cube. Its the problem with our current 'share the big tv with the consoles' strategy
Wasn't a problem recently where i'd been mostly into MTW or carrying on my Xcom campaign......now i got Morrowind(xbox) bug, well lets see what happens
Were fairly organised about it, so i should get a good 5-6 hrs of morrowind in myself tonight

I'm now head of the fighters guild and the thieves guild.
All i will say(for duke's benfit), is that to acheive both AND manage to do 99% of all the quests requires a bit of restraint+patience - you will feel when something is out of place
I've also just realised that advancing in the mages guild is proving the hardest of the lot so far. Probably becasue i'm not playing a magic user, so dont get regular magic using experience. leveling up is requireing alot of use of the magical skills trainers - still atleast it is something to spend my obscene ammount of money on(they really need to fix this excess money problem in Oblivion imho).
@ duke o' york - if you are playing this on xbox for the long term, and think you'll like it enough to stick with it(for the hundreds of hours of available gameplay), then just make sure your playing the GOTY edition, its got the two expansions on it and some bug fixing(apparantly).
If you start a character in regualr plain Morrowind - you cant transfer it to the GOTY version. I've seen Morrowind GOTY in the shops for around £20 recently, if you dont have that version.

That's pretty impressive On the PC it's impossible, i believe - tho I roleplayed enough that i wasn't willing to do so even if I could have.

I dunno - in my games, there wasn't an obscene amount of money available until near the end. Well, maybe 2/3 of the way through. Before that, i always had a lack of money compared to the skil training I wanted to do. (But maybe that's where the money went?) Certain skills - alchemy, enchanting, security, stealth - need training (alchemy only up to 45-50, the others much higher), at least in my playing style, to be ever useful. And the mage skills at high levels all need training, unless you're playing a specialist mage - otherwise you spend hours casting fleabite or whatever just to advance in the mage's guild. And that gets *expensive* especially when you're going for 80 ...

I like your SNOOPY POSTER! - While you Wait quote.
the money isn't that unbalanced. Unless you think there should be no skill training. I admit, I do this too much. I'm addicted to 5 X multipliers . There should be more level advancement through adventuring, not through training.
And I rarely enchant things myself. I pay to have it enchanted.

Not so, and I'm not sure where people get the idea it is impossible from. I say this as someone who was leader of the Fighters and Thieves guild at the same time on the PC version.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
CoT: No, I'm playing the PC version (original, sans patches or anything). I've got an agility of 10 already, despite starting at 5, so that's not too bad.
I'd like loads of cash though, if anyone has any hints on money-spinning ideas for level 1 characters.
Doubt I'll be able to play much this weekend though, but I've stolen a tasty-looking magic axe from a chest against a house in Balmora, and am very keen to start using it. The guards didn't seem too bothered by my thievery. Or was it just that they didn't spot me?
And which House has the best houses you can get? (I'm keen to get on the property ladder as soon as possible)

Unlike Daggerfall, you cant actually buy properties in Morrowind, but you can get them for free by killing the current occupiers(you can be a mad axe-man, but there are mission based opportunities that come up to empty a cave/house of its owners) - then you just move in. The other option is to join one of the Dunmer Houses and get a stronghold built for you(i've yet to do this).
The property i like best is in Caldera - its the upstairs section of Shenks Shovel(a bar). I've taken all the available rooms on the top floor and filled them with various items to make it functional base and homely
You dont have to kill anyone either, just be carefull not to barter with Shenk downstairs - he will think any item you have is his and attack you.
To make money simply do the many missions available to you in all the guilds, and while reaching your objectives dont forget to look around and explore all the nooks and crannys - many interesting(and expensive!) items can be found in those caves

usually they don't care if you steal from the chests outdoors against buildings (though sometimes they seem to :confused)
Stealing inside is a different story. It's best to be in sneak mode (or use telekinisis)
