    • Haste ought to be a level one spell.

      It is in HOMM, and it's a standard spell given to Necromancers.

      • I can understand that, but Haste in my game has a different effect and is very powerful... it doubles a stacks' attack.

        Therfore, an attack of 4 becomes 8...

        Level one spellss merely add 1 to attack/defense.

        In retrospect, it should be a level 2 spell... but not a level one spell.

        • Dang. Magic Arrow needs to be revised in version II of this game... any suggestions for fixes?

          Sorry ben...

          (Note: Ben would have still lost even if magic missile hadn't been used- but that still doesn't negate its overpowerance.)

            Plus the fact that I couldn't use my spells...

            How fair is that! You should have let me know that I couldn't select Haste in the first round!

            This is why higher lvl troops needed more HP because otherwise they are fodder for magic.

            • Well, it's your job as player to not send me faulty orders. If you had raised the issue in the first round I would have caught it.

              And yes, I should have noticed it myself, but I was dealing with other minor rule infractions at the time and expected that people would choose a level one spell.

              So Yes, it is partially my fault as well.

              But as for not being able to use your spells in defense- you never selected one- I gave you a chance and waited a day to post the results. But you didn't give me another spell to counter it.

              *Necropolis grants the hero 10% of the vanquished enemy heroe's creatures, ressurecting them as Level One Units.
              Then At Level 3, a formula is applied (10%)(Hero's Level)/(Enemy's Level)=[% raised]
              Resurrections only apply if you actually win the battle.

              So are you conceding? or sticking with it? I apologize for the oversight.

                If they want to finish me off, they're going to have to knock me out.

                Well, it's your job as player to not send me faulty orders. If you had raised the issue in the first round I would have caught it.
                You never specified that the spell should be of the first level.

                You then did not correct my order (as you did for other things.) I asked for a special power, and you said I don't qualify. So I assumed that the rest of the set up for Vokial was good, since you had looked it over, and corrected me, but not on this point.

                Then, when you brought up the point, I asked for the spell to become first level because I didn't want to be deprived of spells for a round.

                Then I find out you ran the round, depriving me of a spell, and leaving me to die.

                What am I supposed to do? You could have at least rejected my point, and then told me to select another spell. Instead, you rejected me, and then ran the orders for the last round.

                So don't blame me for the problems in the setup, and with your conduct as GM.

                I have been prompt in posting my orders, and staying with the game. I will stay through until the end, and chalk up these problems as teething.

                It's a complicated game, but don't blame me when I find problems with your setup, and things you did not think to correct.

                  I don't remember you sending me that until after you were attacked, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since it would be sort of stupid for you not to choose a level one spell.

                  As another note: I also suffered the travails of faulty rules and rulechecking in Society I and II so I know how frustrating it can be, so, you're not alone- and yes, in this game I did make a mistake and since apparently I missed something you sent me telling me that you wanted a level one spell, I'll give you Magic Missile for that round and have you use it in defense.

                  1.) Fixed a minor error where I accidentally posted the exact army number of Gamecube

                  2.) Exchanged Haste for Magic Missile and amended the rules to specify a 1st Level spell.

                  3.) Gamecube lost 25 Pikemen, not 9 now but Kenobi's forces remain at their current strength.

                  4.) The HP idea is a good one.

                  *In my revisions, I now have to revise magic missile and HP.

                          Once again, please specify which hero is attacking which hero... not just "I'm attacking Gamecube, etc." otherwise I just guess on who to send.

                          RULES AMMENDATIONS

                          4. Dual Attacks

                          If two players attack each other, both use their ATTACKING statistics.

                          6. The Winner's Casualties

                          Multiply total points of losing side's units * Losing Side Heroe's Defense Modifier / Divided by Winning

                          Side's Heroe's attack modifier * Difference in Units (if Winning side had more units)= # of unit points

                          destroyed on winning side.

                          If this # of unit points exceeds the number of units possessed by the winning side- the winning side

                          retreats before the battle is won and both sides lose 25% of their forces.

                          6. Trading Units

                          1. Each unit traded between heroes costs .5 Action Points.
