Can you summon skeletons with your clerics? And then cast Strength of One and Haste on the whole party. Even skeletons kick arse when buffed, and they are immune to lots of things.

I've only got Branwen, and she's got spells to level 3. Jaheira's a druid. I've got strength of one but I'm not sure about haste. Will Branwen be able to summon skellingtons?

Its a level 3 spell, and you summon 1 per level - so she'll summon 5 or 6 of the blighters. They stay for AGES and resist cold, slashing and piercing damage, and are immune to illusion, sleep and charm spells.

Summon Undead should be the ONLY level 3 spell for Branwen to memorise Skellies rock.

Especially hasted and strength boosted. (Note, if you have Minsc, keep him away when casting Strength of One, as it will lower his STR....)

I really hope that Branwen is definitely at level 3. Thanks Jam - Minsc is long gone though.
Update tomorrow, or on Tuesday, depending upon how much I have to drink this evening.

You can use other summoning spells, but they have such short durations and summon really crappy animals... like cats... and mice...

Where can I find which spells are at level three to check whether Branwen actually is there or not? Level 3 spells come at which game level? 5 or 6? I'm pretty sure it's 5 isn't it, and she's definitely either 6 or 7. Now I'm driving myself mad trying to work this out. I wish I could just pop home and check my save, and then come back on Tuesday.

You can ask me...

Level 3 cleric spells include:

Animate Dead
Glyphe of Warding
Dispel Magic
Remove Paralysis...

And level 3 spells come at level 5 Cleric, yeah.

I haven't used Animate Dead so far (though I like the Lightning one (). Does it require yer actual dead bodies lying around, or can you just conjure up skellingtons from nowhere? The latter, that's all right, the former means I'll have to keep hanging around and resting to attract loads of mercenaries to get enough corpses to make the spell worthwhile.

Another good Daevorn tactic is to cast Dispel Magic and Silence on him. Then he can't do anything except die, basically.

The trouble with casting those spells (well, I only tried Dispel Magic) is that you have to be able to see him. And so he kills you.

No no no no!

You need to practice the number 1 tactic for the IE games.

Stealth a thief or cast invisibilty on someone.

Move them forward till they can just see the target.

Move the caster just BEHIND the invisible character - so they stay unspotted by the target.

Cast the area spell AHEAD of the target, so they are affected, but you do not have to move forwards and be spotted.

Have the rest of the party ready, as they may attack when the spell silences/dispels/burns/shocks/blasts them.

You HAVE to get this skill practiced, you'll need it for the final battle.

Use an invisible "spotter" and cast area spells AHEAD of the target.
