It is clear now how Jamski achieves such feats in IE games. With planning like this, noone can stand before him!

Well I've got the big lass Jaheira in the middle, with Mildred playing in the hole just behind her. I've got Coran on the left and Kivan on the right flank, with Imoen and Branwen working their magic in the centre.
The shooting is excellent, and has put paid to many a better opponent so far this season, but it's still uncertain that they'll have the ability to go all the way to the top. Now they've got a big test in their next match, against the Daevorn All-stars, but I think that they can handle this, and go on to cement their reputation as giant-, and everything else killers.

I summoned 3 groups of monsters for that battle with that demon thingy after completing Durlag's Tower when you return to Ulgoth's beard. That battle took quite a few tries for me.
I think the key is to do it quickly. If you take too long, he turns your guy into a ghast.

"That demon thingy" can only be hurt by magical weapons though... I doubt the summons were any more than meat shields
As for doing it quickly - haste it baby, haste it!

it kept the demon occupied while I killed the cultists.
I'm just got done with candlekeep revisited.
Spoiler:
out of curiosity, what happens if you refuse arrrest for killing the iron throne? I didn't want to chance it. I figured the game would end.
looks like I'll be heading back to Baldur's Gate again. I already stopped off in Beregost to sell some more crap. Which seems pointless. As I have over 300,000 gold and nothing to spend it on. Unless someone knows a cool weapons dealer in Baldur's Gate. I went through that city pretty quick, I'm not sure if there is a merchant who sells really cool weapons there.
Even in BG2 I was collecting crap way into the expansion. It's a habit I cannot break.

well I'm finished
It all goes pretty quick once you return to Candlekeep.
I tried to get Viconia up to level 9. But she fell about 9000 experience short (with XP lock removed of course). Montaron was close to getting level 9 theif as well. No biggie.
I'm still not sure why I played a fighter. I have no desire to play him much in BG2. I was thinking I could multiclass him then. But I don't get the option to multiclass. I guess I would have had to multi class from the beginning. I should have chose a fighter/theif from the beginning instead of just a fighter.
For some reason it doesn't allow me to take the beserker kit. No big deal. I don't want beserker or kensai because they can't use bows. My character portrait of a guy holding a bow would look pretty stupid then wouldn't it? . But a regular fighter just seems so boring. I could do wizard slayer, but they don't look that great.
Plus I already did the fighter stronghold once as well.
Also I thought if you imported a character carrying the pantaloons, that they would import with you. That doesn't appear to be the case.
I have now completed all the infinity engine games at least once.
now what?

Now you install all kinds of freaky mods
And try to run through BG1 and 2 solo with a bard.

unfortunately I'm a half-elf. No dual class for me. Not sure why I took half-elf. I think I originally decided to multi-class, but changed my mind.
Let me check that painting though. Although I'm not sure I feel like running through the whole game and expansion to get all the pantaloons. I may just cheat and get the item they create. Just to see what it does.
edit: ahh yes, the pantaloons are in that painting. I just don't feel like playing BG2 with a fighter . Anyways I'll probably have to do a dual install because I just did a tutu mod on Bg1.Last edited by Dis; May 31, 2004, 04:24.

Just installed a tutu mod. The link wasn't working, so I did a google search. This is version 4, which I guess is the recent version. I also installed the tutu tweak pak.
The only thing that doesn't seem to be working is the journal. Is this a known issue? It would be nice to have the journal, but it's not super important. edit: the journal seems to be working somewhat now I'm out of the prologue. Not as good as BG2, but you can't ask for everything
The game looks super sharp with the BG2 engine. And kits. *drools*
I'm playing a paladin Inquisiter. Specializing in bows and two handed swords. Khalid has the beserker kit (I wasn't sure which one to take). He is dual weilding bastard swords. I can't remember if you can find magical bastard swords, I hope so. So I'll probably use him and Jaheira. And I'm also using Kivan. He has the archer kit. Not the best kit, but it seemed fitting. But he can't wear metal armour .
I'm still not to sure what to do about a thief and a mage. I figure I'll dual Imoen at level 2. Maybe 3. That will give her plenty of find traps for the normal game I believe. Although I may pick up another thief for the 6th slot if I go into Durlag's Tower. The only problem there is I will be picking them up late, and won't have a say in their character development with regards to find traps and open locks skills. Hmm.
One problem is so many good or neutral thieves cannot be found until late. Safana is tempting. But I'm not sure if there is a time limit for having to go into that flesh golem cave. Not exactly a thing I can do early.Last edited by Dis; May 31, 2004, 04:24.

oh, here;s a site you might find amusing Dissident
It has 'definitions' for RPG terms
It may remind you of some of your D&D Sessions
"...but that would be showing off...", phrase
uttered by power gamers after they have explained what they COULD'VE done if they REALLY abused the game system. Ex: Power Gamer: "I could have gotten 129 initiative dice instead of 128 if I'd spent double the cash on the mnemonic enhancer cyberware to reduce the size by 20%, then I would've had enough Essence points to get the level 6 neural booster... but that would be showing off." [MW]"But I don't even believe in Jeebus!", phrase, Groeningism
1. complaint uttered by Homer Simpson, protagonist of TV's "The Simpsons," when he was told he was about to become a missionary. 2.complaint uttered by any player who feels his character has been the unfair target of divine retribution; basically, an appeal to atheism to avoid the wrath of the gods.
Addendum: A particularly funny version that sometimes cropped up in a game based on the 1980s cartoon TV series "Transformers": "But I don't even believe in Unicorn!" [AF]-->Visit CGN!
-->"Production! More Production! Production creates Wealth! Production creates more Jobs!"-Wendell Willkie -1944

I think I'll run through BG1 tutu with msyelf (paladin inquisiter), Khalid (fighter beserker), Kivan (ranger archer), Jaheira (fighter/druid), and Imoen (thief/mage).
5 people. I may end up picking up Safana later.
I'm too weak to do that flesh golem cave right now. I'm only level 1.
