Someone could have told me that this was a major blunder! Now my game is ruined, because I talked to the bloke who tells you that you're poisoned, and then he wants you to talk to the diviner. No dice. So I cheat, look up that you have to go to the water temple, and do the rest of the quest. But he's still outside the diviner's tent! I return to the save before this, although the diviner's still dead, and tried to avoid Lothandar (is this his name?), but it seems that I talked to him, and have saved afterwards. I'm on the level of the Iron Throne's HQ just below the huge fight, and unless I can hack the game to remove the poison on myself then it's game over, and I'll have to start again.
Therefore, I'd like someone to tell me how to remove the poison.
Otherwise, I'll just continue to play NWN, and then return to BGI a little later, playing it through with TUTU, and moving to BGII after this. Hopefully it shouldn't take so long to play now that I know what I'm doing. But I'm still pissed off!

    • Because of huge mishaps like that I usually have ludicrous amounts of save games as I don't overwrite any. That way I won't have to start from the beginning, in case I mess up. Nor do I kill npcs out on a whim.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

        • Well you do get some experience if you talk to him long enough and then he wanders off saying something like you're boring and talk too much - you could kill him then i guess.

Interesting. I was never poisoned, even though the guy said I was poisoned. So I'm not sure what do to

I'm sure there's a way to cheat. You just have to find the item code for the special antidote.

            • So I have to find me a list of all the item codes.

Well, I'll have a look a little later on. Thanks Diss.

              • Do a search for "GateKeeper"- that has the item codes, etc. it's a useful application.

Jamski recommended it to me in an earlier BG thread

                • Gatekeeper is a fantastic little prog , but it can be a bit tempting to cheat too much!
DarkCloud, Noober is indeed a pain in the ass, but there are other ways of 'silencing' him than just whacking him

Dissident, you are nevertheless poisoned even though you can't see it on your character picture . It's automatic!

                  • How would you suggest silencing him?
(by the way, I already killed him sadly, and have to be careful when entering Beregost because that killing led to several others that my characters are now ashamed of )

I'm too afraid of messing up the game to actually change anything- I just browse it for reading material

                      • I just use Gatekeeper to change profeniencies/thief skills. Some of those profs are just crazy for what they start out with. And I'd rather take a thief because I like their personality over what skills they start out with.

well I never died, and didn't have any reduction of stats. when I drank it, nothing happened.

                            • It doesn't reduce your stats or anything. You're fine for the 10 days that Lothander gives you, but after that time has passed, then you get a message in the text box and it's game over. Er, my last save is only a couple of minutes away from that.....

Would it be downright evil of me to use Gatekeeper to put the Eagle bow into my pack too?
Also, although I don't have the BGII expansion, whose name I forget for a moment, I'm tempted to hack in the pantaloons too.

                                CRAP!

I just looked at the list of items that you can use Gatekeeper to put into the game and there is no cure. It seems that you are cured of the poison by talking to both Lothander and his partner (Marek?), and you never actually receive a physical remedy that I coul;d put into the game. That means that that particular game is effectively buggered, and although it was lots of fun, I still wish I could keep playing it.
I'll take a NWN holiday, and then install Tutu, the Tutu tweaks and BGII (not necessarily in that order ) and then start all over again.
