  • Getting 18 in 3 stats doesn't take much rerolling.
how much is 'not too much rerolling?'

    I can barely get a
    16
    18
    14
    12
    12
    9
    etc.

in 20-30 rolls on the computer.

then again, I'm even worse in real life I will frequently roll characters with less than 9 in several categories ... it even happened once when I was cheating!

    • Maybe 40 or 50 rolls. I don't think I've ever rolled over 50 times.

it's definately not worth spending that much time over. But it only takes a couple of minutes to roll 50 times. Just save any that seem good. And recall it if you can't get anything better.

I'm quick at adding. So I add up all the stats after each roll. I don't adjust them after each roll- that would take too long. Actually half the time, I don't even add. If at first glance I don't see several high/mid teens I just reroll.

I can't believe you evil re-rollers. I bet you even spam INT down to 3 because your fighter won't need it

        • Why would INT be only 3? If you reroll enough times, it'll be higher

          • That's even worse then. Try a game where you take the first roll of the dice, and see how it goes.

            • I already know I can beat it with ****ty stats. When dual classing I've had my character be pretty useless at times and still did ok with the rest of my party. I just kinda have fun sitting back and rerolling for a while to see what comes up.

There are 3 tomes of Wisdom in BGI?
I'm regretting using the few tomes I've found already
                      Spoiler:
(one in the cave below the Gnoll stronghold and one in the thieves guild in BG)
on my NPCs, because they won't have the improved stats when they reappear in BGII, whereas my character would have done.
                      This is true, isn't it?

                        Spoiler:

one in the main quest, in Baldur's Gate, when you give it to that water ***** during that quest to get the poison antedote...just kill her afterwards, there are no repercussions

one is underneath Candlekeep...not to out of the way...you can get it when you escape after being in jail

the final one is in one of the upper levels of Durlag's Tower, but it's incredibly easy to get

                            • Hmmm. I'm still in BG so I'm not worrying about Durlag's Tower quite yet.

Can anyone confirm whether the NPC stats are imported to BGII or not? Should I concentrate on my PC, who won't necessarily benefit greatly from higher wisdom, or should I make sure that Branwen gets all of the wisdom tomes?

                              • NPC stats are NOT imported.

put all the tomes in your main character.
