Well, unless your a scientist there is no real need for Kelvin in the US.

In addition, many people here don't understand the celsius temp. scale either, Since we use the oh so inadequate farenheit system.

Now convert Farenheit to Celsius, that's a bit trickier

Fortunately, we're not so foolish as to use Farenheit, so we don't need to convert it .

Of course, that's not really true. Every time I'm reading a book by an American author and a temperature is mentioned I get very confused (They complain that it's 105 degrees and I think "What? Their blood should be boiling!"). At least with most measurements you are forced to say what unit you're using but with Farenheit and Celsius you can get away with just "degrees".

I do remember noticing that the Tomb Raider IV demo was not of part of the real game - I didn't realise that they had claimed that it was.

[lie]outside my cave in wales i use seaweed to determine the temp

[true]my head hurts when i have to convert Farenheit into Celsius, and i only end up with a best guess(hot/warm/cold) why can't everyone just drive on the left side of the road?

Well, one thing is for certain, You silly euros (and most of the rest of the world) have one major thing over the US:

the metric system is heads and tails adove the antiquated measurement systems that the U.S. uses. It is so much less mind boggling to use.

I mean 10 millimeters in a centimeter, 100 centimeters in a meter, 1000 milliliters in a liter, is so much easier than 16 ounces in a pound, 8 fluid ounces in a cup, 4 cups in a quart, 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard etc. etc.

The fact is that the US tried a gradual switch to the metric system back in the 70's and failed miserably. My assumption is that people were just having a hard time with the conversions (kilometers to miles etc.), and because of that gave up on it without realizing the many benefits that the metric system would have brought.

...That said, I WILL NEVER DRIVE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!!!!! ...even if I'm in Britain

I suppose that at least half of the cited discoveries have been made by European immigrants...
