When, when I say Dutch I mean 'located in the Netherlands'. I know several American, German, French, etc Apolytoners who live in/near the Netherlands and who might be interested in the Meet. And I always invite a lot of Belgians as well. Provost Harrison (a Brit) has been known to drop by as well, though not this time. And I'm not even sure of panag's nationality (Israeli, French, Belgian? -- probably several of those). The Netherlands is a internationally-oriented country, so in Dutch events (Apolyton-related or not) the presence of foreigners is almost a requirement...

And you still haven't figured it out?, Jesus...........

As I am not sure if I'll be able to join for the programming, I would also volunteer (Yes, Locutus, you can take the gun down now....) playtester.

The only thing I hope, it will still run on my old W95/300Mhz PC

        KeyGen: A suggestion.

How about setting up a thread named:

PROJECT: CtP2 source code project progress

Have Locutus lock it, so that only you can post in it (you would have to PM him to open it when you want to post). Top the thread, and use it for posting a weekly progress report for all to see. It can get hard to follow all the threads in this forum, and this could be an easy way to gather all the vital information on how well the project is going. That is if you're up to it?

Yeah, after the initial compilation excitement, things are getting a bit quiet around here. What's everybody up to, if anything?

I've been plowing through the AI files, trying to get a better idea of what's going on in there (especially, diplomacy). Progress is a bit slow but it's coming along.

I've been sorting out the derived classes, classes with multiple inheritance, what variables can be accessed from where, what's doing what and to whom, etc. on a very small part of the code. I'm trying to put together a reference file that explains the how all of the classes for armies are related. When it is completed and in a useful form, I hope to post it.

I suspect a lot of people have been looking at the code and doing what I did -- Many classes have almost a hundred functions and hundreds of variables. Sorting everything out is going to take a long time.

Yes, he wanted to come last time but couldn't make it. He's planning to come this time though, assuming nothing comes up

                  Its all in this thread.

There is some very nasty "illegal reference to non static member" problem in the netshell code (ns_AIPlayer.h, ns_Accessor.h, ns_Object.h IIRC). There is a struct in ns_Accessor that is declared static and in ns_aiplayer the struct gets filled with non static member variables of ns_AIPlayer class. This is not only with ns_aiplayer but with lots of the ns_* classes.
Also the cast to (Data) there does not work. cannot convert char** to Data.
I guess this whole part is very compiler specific code. :-(

Other problems are with the use of the dbgallocator class and problems with <list> in the STL version of .NET

Unfortunately I guess there is no easy fix to get it to compile on .NET. Some parts of the code need to be rewritten. But I hardly dare to judge because I just have spent a day and a half to dive in.

Yes, just have to associate a face with the unique posts. In some forum over a year ago, someone floated the theory that Panang was an AI program trying to interface with real people through the forums.

That's a good idea Asmodean but I had it already in my "To Do" list. It seems that there is some sort of disorganization yet mostly due to limited time of people in the project and lot of others participating here but haven't signed up yet. I hope to have things sorted one of these days and post a progress thread.

Thanks for bringing this up however
