There is no real defence against that. Only thing to do in my opinion is to get the advances first and strike first. And then all gets back to the old rabbit strategy:

    1. 100% focus on getting Theocracy.

    2. Only produce settlers until number of cities + settlers in production + active settlers = 40.

    3. Build cities on forest and put worker on the best tile available with either sea or grassland. Work sea before grassland due to the +5 gold.

    4. Add 3 warriors for scouting once you have built 2-3 cities. I usually try to make sure to have at least 2 cities before I build a warrior.

    5. Produce following in this order in your cities, Granary - Aqueduct - Mill.

    6. ALWAYS make sure to produce a granary first. If you don't it WILL take twice as long to grow it from size 2 to 3. Rush buy granaries in cities that have 1 turn left before it grows and more than 1 turn left on granary production. this is the ONLY thing you should spend your gold on until 40th city has a granary secured before it grows to size 2.

    7. Get stonehenge!

7.5 East india company can be a good choice too incase you have much sea vs land.

    8. Race for London Exchange! 100% focus on this. If you win this you will most likley get 80% or more of all future key wonders.

    9. Watch your opponents chin hit the floor.

Once you have 10 cities make sure to stop producing settlers in one city. Start producing Granary - Aqueduct - Mill instead. Make sure this is a GOOD production/growth city that can race for wonders. Very important.

    Satisfied Blackice?

Exactly it takes very little and it is a hard strategy to beat.

As I pointed out it starts with the marines and planes, jets, nukes, space planes.

One deterant is to have well armed and guarded space planes with space fighters sitting in your space above your civ. They see that they know thier civ. is next...

Ok so some have seen the marine, fighter, jet tactic, so what is the defence?
The same thing of course, face it the tank in this mix is too costly, too much to maintain (double the fighter) same for ships. So if your at this point in the game consider just the marines and the aero to space planes. The lower maintence cost's allow you to build generally 2-1 if the opponent choose's tanks. If not you should be able to hold your own. Face it most players do the rabbit and have very little room for your entire civilization at this point in the game. So it becomes usually a space race or nuke war. That takes us back to the space plane, nuke, marine, fighter combo. Leathal and very effective in pin pointing key cities to bring a civ. to it's knees.

Nice odds for defence and offence, especially considering the weak defence tanks have to offer.

It's an awesom combination which lasts a long time in the game. Remember to cash in old troops and planes for better units. Generally a cash in of old units nets a 1-2 odds. Meaning the unit you trade for is usually twice as good. Cashing in for space marines is a little different. Consider using the old unit cash ins for city improvements and or wonders. By now the space plane, space fighter will rule for some time to come.

Next up one way to counter the opponents having London's...

Sure be nice to hear some rookies express here what they have learned . Same with the experienced, Dimytes for one you have 12 years online experience surely you have something to offer the newies, let alone the hardcores

Lets do it people let's get this thread back up and running

Mathemagician I would accept it in this thread cuz it's transperant. What ever it is toss it out, changing unit cost, strength, action what ever toss it out. I am sure most of us here are wide open to the experiments.

My bet is Keygen, Hatch and many others would like to dabble in your ideas. I would be willing to test a few I have a spare machine up and running. The one I am on is in the garage. Just collecting dust and serving.

if it werent for some people that NEVER accept anything, i might be more willing to admit im only 99% sure about a certain thing (percentage dropping with every new problem message )

I don't know, but generally I avoid touching files outside the "scenarios" folder. The one and only exception to this is setting the RUINS_CHANCE_PER_BOX variable temporarily to 0.0 when starting a match without ruins.

i assume that aims at me.
well, this game keeps surprising me with all kinds of things that dont make any sense.
people said SLIC files are only needed for the starting player. but suddenly they cause problems even if i did not start the game with them. suddenly they cause problems if i dont actually use them anymore.
my 'clean' install seems to cause as many problems in MP as my 'unclean' one.
and then some things work different on mac than on PC...

this program is more confusing and kills more theories than nuclear physics !

That remark was aimed at "everyone"

    Not "you" specifically

What I am ticked at Math is that if a person starts doing things they should "know" not assume..

I am just as guilty for acceptiing a word of a person as the person giving it..

    Ok

moving on..what is strange is all these things coming up recently..like in past 6-8 months...

But it is a game and alas we can simply restart with what we feel are clean installed files

    Ok..moving right along...
