    • 21 to Geo. I'm surprised there's a reload message; it must have been I had opened a saved turn and didn't save it again, so had to play it twice (for diplo reasons couldn't do it before).

        • I gather the turn is still somewhere on the datalinks?

          • While the turn is out there, perhaps you could do some diplomacy?

Btw, now my exams are over, I thought about giving a little attention to SMAniaC again.

I was thinking about changing the nuclear missile in an update: stripping the unit of its nerve gas ability making it a simple conventional missile. While it’s nice to see your enemies use nukes against you and hurt you for real, it’s annoying when your AI friends also use nukes, and receive decades of sanctions. That removes the aspect of commerce, a big consideration in diplomacy with the AI. I'd also give it psi attack. That should keep them useful throughout the entire game. Though less damaging in the early game.

I'd also make some other changes to alphax.txt, eg switching positions of the Anthropocentric and Green societies on that SE line (affects what SE choice's penalties are removed with the Cloning Vats). Unfortunately such a change could not be used in CO² as GeoModder is already running Green society. But changing missiles still could (basic unit types can't be changed, but psi units can't use nerve gas, so the nuclear missile couldn't be used the nuclear way anymore), so I'm wondering what you guys think about it.

            • Oh, I'm not taking this PBEM that serious that I would outright dismiss a change. Besides, not running green could be still get beneficial to me in other ways atm.

Maybe wait with that, we haven't actually playtested it. Unless you're completely convinced by your SP games that missiles should be modified.

Sounds good. I've recently played one or two SP games under SMAniaC (one city challenge, spartans), and I think Anthropocentric is faar worse than Green, esp taking into account that -15% Planet penalty factor. Anthro is useful solely to popboom. At least IMHO. Pity we can't change it in CO2.

                    Sure. Fine by me.

Dude, you're the Gaians. You're not supposed to run Anthropocentric. Are you saying you want to pollute Planet with uncontrolled population growth? I am shocked, truly!

Btw, I sent a mail to Hobbes asking what's up with the turn.

I could use a little popboom atm.

                        Who couldn't.

BTW, it's funny how we choose our tech paths - no "one true" b-lines. Partially it's because we don't know it too much, but IMHO it's also that SMAniaC has better tech tree. Although I resolved to b-line to crawlers (despite the fact I can't run Plutocracy).

                        • Hobbes, you've send me the turn, but the wrong one. 2122 is what I need.

                          • I don't have a 2122 to send.

                            • So it isn't just me when I was wondering "2122 wtf?".

Kirov, may I suggest you sent the 2121 turn back to GeoModder to get this thing moving again.

It will mean though signing treaties and pacts with the AIs will be useless. Once they get missiles and once they're at war with someone, they WILL use atrocities.

I've been basically forced towards the IndAut direction against my will. Twice in a row already I was unable to pick the tech for the b-line I really want to pursue.

                              • The thing is, I'm first in the turn order. Hobbes always gets a turn number 'x' and sends me 'x+1'. But the last time, I sent 21 on 6th the Feb, then Geo and Maniac were silent, but later in the day Hobbes posted he had forwarded 21 turn.

If I send 21 to Geo (which I did on 6th), then I await 22 from Hobbes.

Anyway, have just resent 21 to Geo, to make sure.
