    I think the thing that pisses everyone off here is the reason why the on-topic site is dead is the lack of content. And for some reason, the people directly responsible for this lack of content are now trying to splinter Apolyton and kill it further. Not just with ineptitude this time, but malice.

    As for copying Dan...no disrespect intended, but there's about a dozen people here with better social skills and would be better hosts. Dan was the host because he owned the site, not because he was very good at it. He's actually the reason I could never stand listening to PolyCast. Same reason I can't stand reading his content like press releases or the infamous MOO3 previews.

    He is excessively verbose, rigidly formal, and very, very aloof.

          One, I was not "tasked" with anything. I volunteered to contribute on the new team when I had anything of interest to post. None of the news team editors have posted anything lately, as there hasn't been anything of note to post about.

          Two, I am not recruiting here to take posters away.

            Let's get it straight. We were happy to have DanQ on board doing Polycast. DanQ decided he wanted to take shop up elsewhere. Rather then fighting him, we've given him exactly what he wanted.

            The only thing he can't take with him is the name, PolyCast, as that is something Cybershy bought when he bought the site. He can call it civcast or dancast or whatever. But not Polycast.

                Don't talk about things you are ignorant about. Robert Plomp did not obtain any of the rights to any of the Podcasts. Confirm that with him if you wish. I have no more time to waste discussing this.

                  Actually, Ben, Dan keeping PolyCast was part of the terms of transfer. Dan is the legal owner of the name "PolyCast".

                  Not that it matters, because the name isn't important. A CivCast hosted on Apolyton is bound to get more traffic.

                      If anything, the fact that he claims it takes 15+ hours to make an episode shows he doesn't have the expertise.

                          Not that it matters, because the name isn't important. A CivCast hosted on Apolyton is bound to get more traffic.
                          It's not the traffic I'm worried about, but the fact that DanQ lied to Cybershy about his intentions. I doubt that Cybershy would have let DanQ keep Polycast if he knew that DanQ was going to take the name elsewhere.

                          As far as I can see, there's nothing stopping us from calling it PolyCast, now that DanQ has taken his ball and left.

                            Dan owns the rights to Polycast. While it would be nice if he stopped using the Poly name if he isn't planning on hosting them here, there isn't a lot we can do about it.

                                Dan can take all the archives with him to the new site. That's not an issue whatsoever. It's his broadcast, and he should be able to do that.

                                But calling it Polycast is just retarded. Polycast is here on Apolyton and is a Poly exclusive. Whatever DanQ is doing is something else altogether.
