It doesn't matter what your opinion is about fair. He has a need and I have a need. He accepted it and I accepted it. In fact, he's the one that made the proposal. I'll tell you what, I'm going to vote against any trade that either of you propose.

I see the Padres have new uniforms. White background, pink right shoulder, green left shoulder with green caps and pink and green letters/numbers with yellow trim and optional long sleeves. Dodgers still look like they did decades ago when I lived out there. Anyway, the colorful display of the Padres got me thinking, they had camo uniforms not long ago. Now if I was a hitter would the 4 bright colors serve as a distraction looking at the ball during the pitch? I wouldn't want a white background but white and that combination of colors twisting around like a blender during the wind up and release would be distracting.

I'm watching Darvish throw from the centerish field camera and the lead shoulder is green and the right arm follows in pink with a white background. The pink and green shoulders provide some contrast but it all becomes a blur like you're looking into a pinwheel. I wonder if they did research on how to confuse batters with uniforms. The camo was at least two close darker shades. Otoh white uniforms would be distracting for fielders.

Looks like Pittsburgh is coming down to earth. What happened to the Cards?

They said the A's green and gold would be distracting when Charley Finley added them, too. The hitter's job is to focus on the baseball, nothing more. Frankly, if he's distracted by something as basic and inevitable as uniform colors, he doesn't belong in the bigs.
