After trashing Awbrun? Not surprising to me. It would suck hind tit if they decided to keep the Big12 out of the playoff and run 2 SEC teams. WTF? I thought TCU was done with this crap when they left the Mountain West. The only real difference is they have one loss vs zero losses.

Really, the playoffs should be Bama, TCU/Baylor, MSS/OleMiss, Oregon.

Something to note, Oregon, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Florida State have not played a top 10 program yet. Only team that is 2-0 is Baylor.

Alabama has played 8 top 30 programs.

TCU has played 4 top 30 programs, and 2 top 10 programs.

Oregon? 3. top 30 programs, and zero top 10 programs.

Ohio State? Just 1 top 30 program.

This week's College Football Playoff Committee rankings are out:

-Alabama gets a big boost for beating previously-#1 Mississippi State, which only falls 3 slots for losing.
-TCU gets shoved aside, partly due to Bama's bump, partly due to the anemic performance against woeful Kansas.
-Ohio State is in really good shape to take a playoff spot.
-Baylor still isn't getting as much love as it should, but that will probably change if they beat Kansas State.
-Oregon really doesn't want to be #1 or #4. Staying at #2 or #3 puts them in the Rose Bowl for the playoffs, which would be a shorter and more appealing trip than to the Sugar Bowl.

I still think that once the conference champs are known, there won't be 2 teams from the same conference in the playoffs. It will be 4 of the 5 power conference champs. SEC and ACC are the obvious most likely, and then the Pac-12 so long as Oregon wins out. So it will probably come down to a tough call between the B1G and Big 12 champs for the #4 slot.

Can't complain. TCU is in a great spot. Funny, how everyone said I was crazy for stating that the Big 10 wouldn't get left out.

If you go back and actually read what people posted, I don't think you'll find anyone that said you were crazy for stating that.

Most just said that it was unlikely, and a few even posted what they thought it would take for them to get in.

Did anybody actually say that it was impossible?

I have to agree with Boris that if the BIG 10 gets one in it will come at the Big 12's expense.

BUT, I'm still hoping that all the weird events happen and the SEC gets shut out, just to listen to the whining that would probably continue for years.

I'm hoping many lose since then the the arguing increases along with the calls of how unfair it is.

It's not outside the realm of possibility. If Alabama loses to Auburn and Mississippi State loses to Ole Miss, and/or the SEC West champ loses to the East champ, the SEC would have a hard time justifying their presence ahead of a host of 1-loss teams from the other Power 5 conferences. But until we know how much weight the committee is going to give to championships vs. win/loss records...

The committee is even heavier considering down to road wins. This will ne interesting. It will also improve some programs non-conference scheduling.
