Bill Barnwell wrote that the team that loses the turnover battle would lose these games. The Colts (-3 ratio) and Saints (-2 ratio) lost the turnover battle.

I'm reposting this stuff with new research because it's fascinating:

In 2013, 9 QB's had 60 or more rushing attempts (Newton, Wilson, Kaepernick, RG3, Pryor, Alex Smith, Geno Smith, Luck, and Dalton). Foles and Manuel had 57 and 53 carries in prorated seasons.

The 9 mobile QB's have a combined 84-49 (.631) record in 2013.

Mobile QB's won 63.1% of their games in 2013

In 2012, 7 QB's had 60+ carries. They went a slightly worse but still well above average 56-40 (.583).

When defenses supposedly would figure out mobile QB's, mobile QB's did even better this year than last.


Since the merger (1970), there have been 112 QB seasons with 60+ carries. The combined record is 919-686-11 (.568).

Since the merger, mobile QB's have won 56.8% of games.

60+ carries not enough? How about 80+? Even better record!

Since the merger, QB seasons with over 80 rush attempts have produced a .579 win percentage.
