  • It's the Browns cycle:

Except Chudzinski didn't even get to draft a QB. Weeden was previous administration. I don't know what Haslam expects. He bought a team several years away from contending. The new hire will be the Browns' 5th HC since 2008, excluding interim coaches. 5 hired coaches in 7 seasons. WTF?

    • It's a shame because they have some talent. Hoyer showed real signs for a couple weeks. Josh Gordon is legit, as is TE Cameron. Quality defense, too. Plus they get an extra first-rounder next year for dumping the very replaceable Richardson.

But you have to have a running game in that stadium. Fortunately, that should be doable.

      • Don't worry. Gordon/Cameron are the new Edwards/Winslow. This was their monster year then they'll stagnate in a crappy offense for a couple years before getting injured (it's the Browns, so they'll get staph infections) and then get kicked to the curb.

This is nonsense. The Packers are from Wisconsin, which is overall a slightly left-leaning state. The Dallas Cowboys have the most conservative fan base in the country. And nationally, it's larger than the Packers'.

          • Favre? I thought he played for the Vikings. Not sure what that has to do with Rodgers.

Once again I can't tell if you are trolling, obtuse or just lacking in knowledge. Maybe all 3?

                  Minnesota has fired Leslie Frazier.

                    • BTW, just saw footage that shows conclusively the Chargers were in an illegal formation on Succop's missed FG at the end of regulation. They had 7 men to the right of the center. Should have been a 5-yd penalty and re-kick.

Rule 9-1-3: no more than 6 players on line on one side of snapper on FG
                      Who got screwed? Pittsburgh.

                      • Black Monday so far:

                        Chudzinksi
                        Frazier
                        Schiano
                        Schwartz
                        Shanahan

Add in Kubiak from Dec. 6 and that makes 6 blood lettings, which is less than the 7 firings from last season. It looks like Garrett will inexplicably keep his job, but we all know it doesn't matter who the coach is at Dallas so long as Jones is the owner.

                        • Fun fact: The 3 most recent head coaching changes in the AFC Central have all been with Cleveland.

Baltimore - John Harbaugh (2008 to present)
Pittsburgh - Mike Tomlin (2007 to present)
Cincinnati - Marvin Lewis (2003 to present)
Cleveland: Eric Mangini 09-10; Pat Shurmur 11-12; Rob Chudzinski 13

Since Paul Brown left coaching in 1962, only Blanton Collier (63-70) and Sam Rutigliano (78-84) have kept the job more than 5 years.

                          • I laugh at Schiano. When he left Rutgers, I knew he wouldn't last long. I mean he's a great recruiter who is a horrible game day coach. His main strength is neutralized in the NFL.

I don't get the firing of Chud. Must have done something to piss off management other than lose games. You've gotta give a first-year coach more time to turn things around, especially given their injuries. It's an unjust world where he gets fired after 1 while Garrett still has a job after 3...

                              • Chud is a Toledo native and he's been fired by the Browns 3 times now. He was their tight ends coach in 2004, fired when Butch Davis resigned. Returned in 2007 to be their offensive coordinator but was fired in 2008 with the end of the Romeo Crennel administration.
