I know I should not be surprised when announcers are idiots, but the repeated "near disaster" comments on the punt where Weems knocked the ball out of the end zone are really jarring. Once a Vikings player touched the ball first, as happened very early on (keeping it out of the end zone), the Bears could not possibly have anything bad happen. The illegal touching would negate anything the Bears might do. The worst case scenario would've been having to take the ball on the 2 or whatever the result of that touching would've been. Weems' play was a very intelligent, heads-up play that carried no risk whatsoever.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Yeah, pretty much how it was. I was home sick today so actually got to watch game live. For some reason, I thought they were going to lose the game - at HALFTIME with the lead. Glad I was wrong. Big mistakes by the Bears in the first half was the only reason this game was remotely close. Cutler had his issues, but delivering on a last-minute drive in both halves is surprising and encouraging.
To win with 4 turnovers (-2 net) and giving up a KR TD was pretty impressive. And/or lucky.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Interesting... the 49ers were ready to trade Kaepernick to the Eagles but the Eagles backed out because they felt they could get Russell Wilson.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 49ers nearly traded Kaepernick to the Eagles for a second-round pick prior to the 2012 draft. Because Alex Smith had a strong year in 2011, after Kaepernick had been drafted, the 49ers reportedly were willing to move him. Schefter says the Eagles backed out because they believed they could get Wilson — a player “whom they geared their whole draft around.”

I really don't get the Lions. They have the premier WR. A fine QB. Bush has done well. So is it Defense? Not the DL.
