I certainly understand that POV, Donegeal and snoopy.

I like the idea of a bid system for FAs, especially with short benches like in Auction. My attachment to the Wild West method is born of having always done it that way in almost every league. When you play the same leagues with mostly the same guys every year, it just becomes part of the routine. Also, you can only snag those guys Sunday afternoon if you've got expendable players whose games haven't started yet.

I find anything more complicated than grabbing whoever happens to be available when I have time to look to be annoying.

is there a system for our slow draft leagues by which we get some $$$ for the season to spend on the ww? or is that FAAB?

would that effectively combine the delay ww and a bid system since the ww is closed until bids are processed?

sounds like a good idea, I still like the delay - just better handcuff your valuables. If you dont keep your star RBs back up on your roster, you probably got somebody else's handcuff. Choose wisely

I had a lucky week, 6-1 and aside from the 200+ vs Ozzy my best scores were in the 150s - i think thats 2 weeks in a row at 6-1

Bad week for me, 1-3. Past the halfway mark and three of my teams are still solidly in the hunt, with the 4th totally and inexplicably in the weeds at 1-7.

It's better than no waiver. Some of us have to work weekends and don't get the opportunity to sit back and watch over 9 hours of games on Sunday. Why should I get punished because I have to work to protect your asses? (ok, not your asses specifically, but you get the picture)

I understand, which is why I suggested a bid system would be a better way of doing it for auction league.

In my auction league, we blind bid for free agents. That means you don't know what other guys bidding so you have to give yourself some cushion. Remember I said I was trying to get Rashad Jennings? He went for $25.

We bid real money though that is added to the pot so blind bidding helps sweeten the pot.

I had my doubts about Matt Ryan throwing enough to make Roddy White AND Julio Jones viable fantasy starters... anyone notice their fantasy outputs in ESPN scoring?

Roddy:
8, 16, 5, 28, 6, 13, 3

Julio:
22, 1, 12, 3, 15, 6, 18

Yes. They literally alternate every week! WTF?

If someone had both of them and played out the pattern, the combined Julio White would combine 17.7 points a game! And be the leading fantasy WR by some margin and second in all non-QB fantasy behind Arian Foster.

By the way with the Roddy White/Julio Jones thing... the Falcons' schedule has been surpisingly neat alternating between home and away games. Julio is king on the road and Roddy king at home.

And it will continue to alternate. The whole year is alternating home and away games for the Falcons Is that common in a team's schedule?

I had zero RBs available to start this week, with Gore, MJD, Redman (who's gone) and FJax (who was injured at the start of the season). It was the perfect storm.
