Probably somewhat soon after we get a 10th. There are DST and Auction leagues but I'm not in them so I have no link handy.

I believe D/ST and Auction both employ Jaguar's rules, which are far from what most would call standard. QB slightly nerfed, DEF significantly upgraded. A balanced approach, fun to play.

I haven't done an IDP league in a while, but I am willing to give you all an easy week or two during the schedule. I'll be the 10th. I am also interested in the auction league, but I need to think about that one.

FWIW, the auction league's scoring is actually pretty normalish; there are a few tweaks to try and make "good" RBs more valuable rather than just 2.5YPC workhorses (ie, a small negative per-carry) and some tweaks to QB scoring to both make it "lower" but also to make it more important (ie, "good" QBs score much more than "mediocre" QBs, so no more "Carson Palmer in the 8th round" etc.) Overall the strategy is still pretty close to 'normal' FF drafting, perhaps with the exception of drafting a QB a bit earlier than you normally would.

Jag's system changes the balance between positions, metes out heavy penalties for turnovers, and makes defenses relevant. The low yds/pt takes some getting used to. Definitely things to be aware of. OTOH, I was a total noob to the system last year and won the Auction League, which argues that a little knowledge, a bit of common sense, and a dollop of panic/luck is sufficient for success.

That's a pretty good summary.

What the low yards/point does largely is a) make up for the penalty in carries and in catch (.2 PPC instead of the normal 0.5 to 1 is effectively a penalty) and b) devalue touchdowns without changing the 'sacred' 6 points per TD. A RB that gets 20 yards on 5 carries in yahoo standard gets 2 points; in Jag's scoring he gets 4 points (5 points for yardage, -1 for 5 carries). So you double the yardage portion of RB scoring without changing TD (plus penalize really low YPC running backs).

I actually find the QB scoring the most complicated, but even there it's really just reducing scoring from inefficient QBs (penalty for INC and sacks). It just means some QBs that otherwise would be highly rated are not (although last year I don't think it was as significant a difference - some of those normally overrated QBs fell off). The Carson Palmers of last decade wouldn't score very well here while the highly efficient passers like Peyton would score better.

10 players including you. We finished in 9 days last year with 10. There's a 4 hour (iirc) time limit for picking during the day. There are several people that are good with taking lists, and should the worst happen, you can replace the BAPAY with any undrafted player after the fact.
