Thomas has to win-- I see no way that he doesn't when he leads in both sv% and GAA to go with his 35 wins (9th but the leader only had 38 and Thomas only had 11 regulation losses)

Particularly given that.938 sv %-- thats actually quite a gap on the field considering Rinne is next at .930, Schneider at .929 and Luongo .928 and then a whole bunch from .924 and downward

In many ways it reminded me of Osgood of a fewe years back when he would get a shutout or a >.950 Sv % when the other team managed 21 weak shots from the blueline

Playoff stats are notoriously small sample. Yes, he's 10th, but there's a huge dropoff after him, and a logjam in front of him.

That and the fact that they just defeated the number 2 offense in the NHL.

Ben -- yes that was the very year-- he finished off nashville
with 2 20 save victories and a SO and a .952

In the Stanley cup finals he made more than 22 saves ONCE in a 6 game series

So yes ben that is exactly the Chris Osgood I am talking about. __ I am not saying he was a bad goalie-- not at all-- I just say that he had a number of 'easy outings" where getting a shutout or a high save percentage was simple-- all he had to do was make a relatively small number of fairly routine saves-- detroit was that good back then

At this stage yes that is true-- After two rounds you may be up to 1/6 or so of the games most keepers play in a season so its not that bad a sample

It is a miracle this game is going to OT. The Sharks are dominating us.

Disgraceful effort by most of the team; the only line that had any fire at all was, predictably, Datsyuk's. Howard was, by leaps and bounds, the best player on the ice last night.

I suppose the good news is that the Wings could hardly play any worse than they did, and it still took the Sharks OT to win. The bad news is that Howard could hardly play any better.
