Your constant whining about the refs is the most obnoxious, pathetic display I've seen in the Sports Forum, which is really saying something. A penalty is a penalty is a penalty, whether in the first period of the season opener or the third period of a potential series-clinching game. That is a penalty shot every time; your *****ing and moaning is positively insufferable.

The sheer incompetence of NHL officiating...Sutherland and McCauley MUST be fired! Horrible in Game 6

The refs were AWFUL tonight!!!!!!!!!


Kelly Sutherland is from Richmond, BC. He is clearly overcompensating to make sure that he is not accused of ever being a Canucks homer.
Sutherland has a history of screwing the Canucks over. Remember the phantom boarding penalty on Burrows against Vernon Fiddler? That was girl's name Sutherland.
On Boxing Day 2008, this was the guy who made 4 famous bad calls for putting the Canucks in two 5 on 3 situations!

As for Wes McCauley, I am 90% sure that he is legally blind. He is known for not calling obvious high sticks. Remember when Dan Hinote high sticked Jason Arnott in a Colorado vs Dallas game?
Arnott was bleeding and McCauley went home with his walking stick and seeing eye dog. His father, John McCauley was a good ref, and must be rolling in his grave to see the disgrace his son has become.

1) Hamhuis checked frolik from the side not from behind. Plus it wasnt a clear cut breakaway...yet a penalty shot was called.

2) Daniel Sedin was clearly high sticked in the face from Bolland, right in front of an official. Not only an infraction but a dangerous act.

3) Bolland Slashed Henrik in front of the net, breaking his stick, which is a penalty.

4) Bolland tripped Edler with a slew foot, purposefully not called by an official.

5) Bieksa received a direct hit to the head, violating rule 48. Two refs saw it and no penalty was called.

6) Raffi Torres was boarded by Hjalmarsson. No call.

7) Alex Burrows got a punch in the face from John Scott after a whistle. No call.


This is NOT a conspiracy. It is worse. Its sheer incompetence.

This is why I watch the NFL more than the NHL. Its officials are the best in the business.

Poorly officiated game!! The fix was in!! The NHL should be embarrassed that this was so obvious. I havent seen officiating this poor since the last VAN-CHI series in 2010.

I haven't watched any replays but I think it was Bickel who hit Bieksa in the head with a blatent head shot during the overtime. I understand that the refs cant go against the hawks, but will the league hand down a suspension for that hit.

It should have been 5 and a game right there. Thats the rules , refs are not allowed to just ignore blatent calls because of overtime. If they were trying to be easy on the whistle in overtime then the hit should have received two minutes.

If league does nothing then I will be in shock.

Dear Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson,

CBC is a Canadian broadcasting network. Which means its alright to show some homerism towards the Canadian team especially if you were the team's former commentator.

Would you two please stop kissing Duncan Keith's ass? Stop talking about how hard he can blast the puck and talk about something more relevant like how his slapshot will translate into a nice golf swing tomorrow.

The CBC seems to have something against the Canucks. I though Jim Hughson would change this but no. I cant stand their commentary. I put my TV on mute and listen to the team 1040.

1. How many of your all -time top 20 goalies had instances , IN THEIR PRIME AND UNINJURED where their team chose to start another goalie in game 6 of a playoff series ?

2. How can you project someone as top 5 of all time with no playoff pedigree whatsoever?
